GIjoe started then sold license to Palitoy (then to others in Europe/SAmerica)
Palitoy did some great features that was carried over to other GIJoe lines.
GIJoe is the pioneer , remember how Hasbro was able to switch from military themes to adventure sets with success in lieu of the era w Vietnam war.
Gijoe's AT themed sets saved GiJoe but only up to around late 70s/early 80s due to market trends and the rest is yadda, yadda.
Action Man had none of that cultural baggage with Vietnam war and so enjoyed military themed uniforms and sets right until early 80s. Some adventure type stuff including some, imo a rather crappy Space Ranger stuff , overall nothing on Gijoe AT scale but something for everyone.
