why is ramen toys making 3rd party figures of late 80s cartoon characters? Im not complaining mind you Im more surprised than anything else. It was my understanding that 3P toys can only come about if theres demand for them in both the east and west. I cant imagine any filmation property being all that popular in SEA.

Why would you believe this to be the case? If they fill the quota they're trying to reach to meet a MOQ and still make money, what more would they need to do? They work off of a preorder model that needs to reach thresholds, and if it doesn't reach things they don't go forward with the project. Whether or not either the West or East cares about the product is not their concern, simply if it meets the quota.

well upto this point transformers held a monopoly on 3P releases. the the turtles got in on it fairly recently. with both franchises are considerably popular across asia, I can see why someone would take the chance to release 3P figures. But for franchises as niche as bravestarr or MASK? it was just surprising really

you might have a point there. in general there's certain processes which seem simple enough to recreate but have become surprisingly difficult to over the years. comics in the 90s shit out so many weird gimmick covers that less than half are able to be reproduced now. I wonder if something similar's happened to lenticular items.

inhumanoids would be such an easy sell its almost criminal that they havent jumped the gun yet. speaking of which coming up with legally distinct names for these things must be a blast. I figure they'ed call their inhumanoids something generic like "leviathans" but they could just as easily go with something goofy like "monstroids".

To be honest I wish they came up with a better name for their M.A.S.K line than Makina, something like V.I.S.O.R maybe.

They made the Makina packaging top notch though.

Companies that do that shit can go bankrupt. Especially the cheapo ones that decided that remote control toys don't need a remote, just an app. Not everyone had a fucking phone glued to their damn hands.

It's like this shit where a cereal box wanted me to scan a QR code for a coupon, instead of just printing the coupon on the box, when it would have required the same amount of ink. The forced need for these fucking things is annoying.
