Probably this >>10435255 plus, Hot Toy collectors (I would assume) like how 1/6 figures generally are (soft goods, seamless, etc) so naturally when a figure isn't like that they aren't going to like it as much since it's not offering what they normally buy HTs for

I would say the joints blend and work well with the angular design, and the plastic itself is not unfitting for the visuals of the character.
The Miles figure has a fabric outfit on the other hand, and I guess there's some clash, but you can argue that an outfit from 2099 has the right to feel different.

Cloth is the norm for them and is a big part of the reason the costs are so high. Outside of Mezco collectors, you know damn well those of us who collect 1/12-1/10 get just as annoyed with figures covered in cloth clashing with our all/mostly plastic figures.

Lack of suit fabric to hide the seams makes it look cheaper. But that being said, the suit fabric sacrifices a lot of articulation. I personally don't care, the spiderverse designs really don't suit 1/6 scale. The Miles one had a plastic mask and fabric suit and it was awful looking.
