How do you guys deal with other collectors? Do you like associating with them? Do you avoid them?

I was at the store the other day grabbing a DC Multiverse figger and this other guy came into the aisle and started striking up a random conversation about Batman with me. I was polite and tried to engage with him but he was being super weird so I politely excused myself. It was fucking bizarre. Never had a stranger come up to me like that and just start talking some random stuff with me. Anyone else have any similar experiences?
