>>10504225Fair enough. I did also mean to say at the end, its all anecdotal, that I could just be getting a different experience of it.
Still even if its a lot more popular than my experience has given it credit, which I certainly cant deny the possibility of (it was decently popular among my generation as a kid, so why not now). I'm still 100% not gonna accept it has as much appeal as Pokémon to kids. Pokemon EVERYTHING is still fucking EVERYWHERE and most kids like it, fucktons of kids wear pokemon stuff
>there are hundreds of thousands of kids with a feverent interestTo this I'd just say. Well that number is millions and millions for Pokémon
Don't get me wrong either, im not shitting on Kong/Monsterverse or shilling pokemon, given I love kaijus and got sick of Pokémon about 4-5 generations ago. Its just reality is, Pokémon is still fucking enormous and very few franchises could qualify for the OG statement you made that im arguing against
Ha, maybe I'd give a shot at buying that stuff, but it was Australia I spoke of and im currently living in japan (3 months here, last I saw all that mentioned stuff was right before I left though).
So cant get it, plus likely a very different market situation to you, even if I could.
Anyway, sorry my discussion wasnt really the direction from your post that is most relevant to the thread.
I do agree with your points about the actual product ideas/comparisons. some breakout beast style offerings would be a good idea and kaiju builds of at least charizard complexity and up to GOT dragon rivaling would be great. That dragon gives me pretty good feelings for what a ghidorah could be like. Though would get pretty damn expensive.
