They're too small, in my opinion. Especially the hands. They're like 5 inches. Just get a basic Marvel Legends like a Spiderman or even a DC Multiverse.

McFarlane stuff actually has pretty decent articulation for the price. I had one of those SH Figuarts body-chan things and it was really flimsy, broke an arm off.

As someone who occasionally draws and has considered these in the past, its probably better to just get a character that you like or resembles the kind of character you'll be drawing frequently. There's figures out there that you can get better poses out of. There's also a bunch of cheap bootlegs of import level stuff that will do fine for the purposes of a drawing reference.

I have the 1st generation and the Kentaro Yabuki version, and to tell the truth they kinda suck, the SHF body chan/kun are geared more toward to less visible joints/seams than articulation

frankly at 1/12 scale its better to use the 1/12 synthetic human as a reference tool

I switched to using TB leagues and its miles better.

Mcfarlane figure has all the points of articulation but lack any actual range. Besides the porportion is fucking bizarre and inhuman, not really a good refence for anyone who try to learn painting.

depends on where you live and what you buy...

if you just buy a generic body (no head included) it can cost around 50 USD, if you buy a generic body with a generic head, it can cost upto 65 USD

if you buy something with lots of accessories, or like a licensed character, it can cost upto 400 USD

Phicen is a metal frame encased in silicon. Jiaoudoll is bunched up metal wireframe in silicon.

in terms of articulation Jiaoudoll is better since it can pose with ballerina-like articulation. but both can basically mogs any hard plastic figure with articulation
