You get bored of them easily because you only buy toys to display them and in many cases never even took them out of the box, and display the box instead because you think the artwork on it is super nice. Even worse, you ordered some of them merely because they were discounted and you thought you got a good deal on a figure you never gave a shit about before. You don't even pose them because you're afraid it will expose whatever QC gremlins the manufacturer failed to address.
You never actually enjoyed collecting toys and perhaps only started buying them to fill a void in your life which could be anything from losing a pet, a job or even a spouse. With this kind of mindset you can completely switch over to another hobby and will still repeat the cycle. I can say all these because I experienced the same thing but with watches and during my first couple years collecting toys. Sold the ones I never really liked, bought tons of other shit that I've always wanted and felt I really should have bought those ones instead of listening to toyfluencers and the like in the first place.
