>>10468763Gonna be honest, I haven't played like half of the Final Fantasy games, so I'm not necessarily saying X is a great FF, so much as it's a great JRPG. XII's maps were like a single-player mmorpg that was basically a walking simulator if you set up your gambits right and tedious micromanagement if you purposely gimped yourself. Tried it twice, once as a kid and the remaster as an adult and never managed to finish it. Constantly fell asleep while traveling from place to place in it. VIII was mostly good and I liked Squall a lot as a protagonist, but the romance was weak as hell compared to X's, wasn't a fan of the junction system, and the orphanage twist was dreadful.
Of the others I've played, IV and VII are the only ones that I liked a lot. I finished III, but couldn't tell you anything about it besides the job changing being neat. Played all the offline titles after X and the only one I somewhat liked was ironically XV in all it's boy band glory. Might've been less critical of it since I got the royal edition for free on gamepass.
