I play in the same autistic way I did as a child, which is autistic silence as I put them in different positions with props and then sit and stare at and admire the scenarios I am creating.

If you mean Play in the sense of "Oh no! Crabface (Predator) kidnapped Miku when she was going to sing at the Super Bowl! You have to rescue her Captain America!" I do not do it.

But if by playing you mean taking them out of their packaging, posing them, changing hands/accessories and putting them in a display case and then doing the same after a while, yes, I definitely play with them.

I am 35 and I have a severely over active imagination so I still play with my toys with sound effects. I like to pretend my Imperial Guard tanks get fulton like in MGSV and I like to fly down with my LAAT from the Episode 2.

I'm 38 and i do that all the time. Sometimes i pretend one figure riding a hoverbike and flying through a cyberpunk city and a huge robot chasing it shooting rockets.
Picrelated imaginext "hovercraft" is pure perfection for such scenario (you can fit other figures in it).
Sometimes i really value this ability of mine to play with toys in such manner because it really feels like im playing a videogame with no limits

I guess i will never grow up but "growing up" is a definition of a thought-slop of an idea anyways.
PS:
but i dont think that "boomers" playing with toys is something unusual. My generation was literally fed up with toy/play propaganda since 80s.
Every commercial was teaching us how to play with our toys and TV-shows were showing all kinds of imaginative stuff.

I wonder will zoomers be like that when they hit 30-40? Will they be playing with toys like that?

I do play with them to an extent, most of the actual play amounts of manipulating them in my hands for the sake of the satisfaction it brings.

Moreso I have an active imagination about my home being a toy-story style civilization that they've cultivated for themselves. It's toy story rules but they retain more of their personality/abilities from the characters that they source.

Yes. My favorite is exactly what >>10504454 does. I also swoop my aircraft/space ships through different maneuvers, and "drive" my cars around either on the desk or just in the air. I also usually hold everything relative to my eye like I'm using a camera.

I do this too, as I've done since I was a child. But I also play in a traditional way by acting out grand stories with overarching plots and characters, I simply never stopped playing that way. It's extremely gratifying
