>>10505510I've seen a lot of the criticism regarding the Lego Star Wars prequel stuff that you're referring to. With a lot of what I've seen the biggest issue is that other Lego themes will get very accurate details and new molded pieces all the time when star wars will not receive that treatment.
On the flip side, some of the biggest complaints currently are regarding the clones, because Lego added a hole to all helmets when only a handful of clone characters would need them and it makes the whole thing look worse, and they already had a perfectly good mold just about a year ago. Additionally some of the boxes were using images of the minifigs with accurate details printed but the actual figures did not have those details. Also the waist capes not being included with the new figures, but other themes are currently getting the cloth waist capes/skirts.
It really boils down to "why is this specific theme that I like getting the shaft when others are getting Lego's A game." Also the Lego Star Wars team has gone on record talking about how anything less than the best is not acceptable, so hypocrisy comes up a lot too.
Personally I just recently got back into Lego SW and I don't mind too much these things but it would be cool if they were fixed.
>If you care so much about detail, go get a Black Series or a Hot Toys, those will be 100% accurate. This is also a bad argument, they're entirely different types of toys. And if we were having this in the early 2000s when all Legos were very simple in design then sure, but the line has made a lot of strides for design and detail both with licensed and non licensed sets. Lego collectors don't want a 100% accurate representation of the character scaled to Lego, they want good looking renditions of the characters in the Lego style. Especially for the cost of Lego these days. Further, there's already a lot of overlap with people collecting Lego, black series, TVC etc.
