You should make a 5mm post turret to replace the one he comes with, that looks much more like a traditional bludgeon turret, and plug it into that port on his back piece, and it'd change the look of the tank mode a lot too.
Might need to remove the smaller rotating guns though

and then it tells me the image is too big for 4chan, despite being on 4chan

Right. So we end up with an undersized Trex which makes fights with a gorilla interesting, normal(ish) sized rhino and cheetah, and a humongous rat and wasp.

i actually liked that the leader was not the biggest strongest guy, but instead right in the middle... but on the pred side, megatron was the biggest and baddest so it was interestingly asymmetrical.

right, and the initial idea was oversized gorilla, hence the toy. but in the show they made it smaller t-rex. but still huge, like way bigger than a fullsize t-rex would be next to a typical king kong of the era.

Anyone else with Armada Prime has his sliding chest/back piece a little wobbly? It slides fine but it's just a tad wobbly when skid down like it is now. Pic related is how far it can wiggle. Isn't the piece supposed to be able to pop off too along with the Autobot badge?

Yeah, the piece does pop off, though it's not supposed to. The Autobot Badge, on the other hand, is shown right in the instructions; presumably, the peg hole is for a future Armada Jetfire to plug into.

I guess, but the actual painted blue near the knees still seems brighter in the in-hand shots. Maybe that's just because it's blue applied to yellow paint. The production look is growing on me, but I'm with >>10518501, these should be as neon possible.

What they should do it make a titan Tidal Wave that has a "evo fusion" gimmick that allows you to remove three pieces of him to recreate his Megatron add ons without compromising the bigger figure. You still get a giant figure and Megatrons armor.

Their size difference wasn't that much. The original Tidal Wave is slightly smaller than Siege Jetfire, and the original Megatron is about as big as SS86 Grimlock. Basically a small commander class with a big leader class.

If you're referring to the seat where Optimus connects to in Super Mode then no, it's far too big for any Minicons to fit in it and trust me I tried with the others.

Because Tidal Wave is supposed to be much larger than Megatron, the original toys just don't scale as such. His arms are each half of an aircraft carrier. His torso is a battleship.

I would absolutely love some updated Cyberjets but I'd want them as small deluxes. As core class I think they'd be inferior to the originals, you wouldn't get the lightpiping and clear cockpit in a core class, and they'd likely be smaller than the originals too.

Ironically the kids in Armada just cried, didn't call out Smokescreen/Grap's name in anguish so they weren't talking as much as the Micron Legends version in that particular scene. Still, both Micron Legends and Armada Optimus scream at the end are a tie for me. Honestly would've loved that as Overload's backstory. The way I picture it, Optimus encountered Sentinel Maximus (back when he was both Primal Prime and Apelinq) when he 'died' and his Spark was left roaming around the universes but still lightly anchored to his world. Optimus would've worked with the two in their dimension up until Optimus was revived by the Minicons and his Matrix in which Apelinq and Primal Prime now combined into Sentinel Maximus would've followed him after the fight against Cryotek into the Armada universe and renamed themselves Overload.

Though the more sensible way would be Rollout upgrading himself with Headmaster technology and constructed the Overload body as he is eager to become part of the Autobot team unlike the rest of the Minicons.

I like this guy. Still not familiar with the source material yet, and he's definitely into as fun as Armada Optimus with his trailer and combining gimmick, but he's still a good toy and better tank Megatron than the Earthrise and Siege ones. As I understand it, he's also a total psychopath in the original lore, which is cool - I like my evil leaders unhinged (which is probably why BW Megs is my favorite Megatron despite not actually being a 'real' Megatron).

In-universe, BW Megatron was some random dude who adopted the name Megatron based on the 'Great Destroyer' from the Covenant of Primus, who the rest of Cybertron assumed was referring to G1 Megatron (who exists/existed in the BW universe, meaning he's NOT this universe's incarnation of the character). He's a Megatron fanboy in the same vein as Tarn leading a small band of rebels, not actually a Megatron leading a full-on army like other Megatrons in the franchise.

Well, yeah - he, like everyone else on Cybertron, assumed the harbinger of the end of the world was G1 Megatron, especially since that's the name given in the book, so him picking that specific name for himself was almost certainly because he thought he was naming himself after THAT Megatron and carrying on his work. It wasn't until he realized he was in the past and had become a literal dragon as described in the Covenant of Primus that he realized it was referring to HIM all along, and even then, he doesn't get to bring about the actual apocalypse until he returns to Cybertron in BM.

This is not a brightness or saturation problem, that is straight up a different hue. You can tell something is up because the yellows, oranges, etc. are all still very close in both images, but the blue/blue-green has changed radically. You can see here that if you adjust the image so that the blues are correct, the other colors all get fucked.

This is not a photo or lighting issue. The blues are just wrong.

He actually has a super interesting dynamic. Mainly, he's always just kinda bored and irritable when not fighting. The only times he's sincerely happy is when he's fighting Optimus, where he's giddy and laughing like a maniac; and then when OP has his obligatory death, he just stoops into a sincere depression because now he's lost all motivation for fighting this war. To Megs, he wants SS to mature into the strongest type of warrior there is, which is obviously himself. It's a surprisingly mature take on what's sort of an abusive father dynamic.

Actually, that comic's ending was notably open-ended. It's what I really liked about it cuz you don't realize until you think a bit about it, but yeah the GoBots said all these plans which allude to them possibly creating the transformers, but then the actual comic ending shows the humans that went back to the past, trying to convince people to take precautions against the GoBot uprising that wipes all them out. ie, it's left vague whether or not they'll succeed; maybe they don't and the GoBots do survive to create the transformers, or, maybe the humans succeed in putting in the precautionary measures, and the Earth never gets transformed into Gobotron to begin with, erasing that future from existence.

Main difference is G2 and Armada were released in America, while JP G1 only few fans care about because American nerds are very willfully ignorant. Lio Convoy meanwhile is a cheap voyager figure, as is Metalhawk, so it's honestly lucky we got them at all sadly.
Meanwhile Star Saber was a gigantic toy that had virtually every gimmick his original figure did, of a niche character when Titan/Commander/even Leader figures already are a gamble if they'll sell well or not. Frankly I'm more pissed Deathsaurus wasn't released at retail as a Commander, he totally should be.

If a Star Saber were released at retail, he'd need to get his nesting doll gimmick removed or simplified, and Victory Leo sold as a separate toy, at the least. I'd totally pick one up like that if it were.

The average retail consumer will probably find that price too much to pay at once for some toys, however it isn't an issue of pricing but rather all those toys being packed together. S'a combination of Armada being in a really unique position for the brand, while stuff like it and all JP TF shows are given either absolutely terrible dubs as the only official option, or nothing at all. What I mean by the former is that Armada's whole point in marketing was how it was the first major, complete and total reboot, so in the writing, it really made a concerted effort to be a different twist on what few legacy characters there actually were. Everything since has been more reigned into what the collective consciousness recognizes Transformers "as", just doing different spins. Anyone else want one more take on Hotrod but in a Generations style? Something more like Classics or Titans Return with more ports and a more straight forward transformation. Studio Series is nice for animation accuracy, but it isn't exactly too fun as a toy, also being studio, it leaves out all the extra ports that add to line playability. I'd like to see a new one just for that.

imo dropping $50 or more on a toy is a lot and anything you have to wait a year on after paying is questionable meaning you have to gauge how bad you want it vs how bad you don't.
That's why some of us don't "pity you" as the anon would put it, you had to make a call and figure it out, but you want to be mad and cry "Not fair! *sob*" like you are still living under mommy and daddy's roof with no life experiences that would teach you the lesson that you have to pick and choose your battles. I didn't back Star saber myself because I'm not invested in the character, just like I haven't bought most of this Legacy/Evolution series, because I want to make sure I have the money to get the ones I do care about. I encourage you to do the same and if you answer is "but I want all of them" then you need to do some self reflecting and either figure out how to make more money or be an adult and cope you can have all of them.

Bro, commanders are 90 bucks. Add that to the 70 you came up with, and that's 160 right there. Add the stand and the extra accessories, and it might not quite come up to 180 bucks, but it's pretty close. I wouldn't call that "inflated heavily". You can say they shouldn't have sold Star Saber exclusively as a pack with all the other figures, but you can't act like the full set was massively overpriced for what it was.

I lucked out with SS86 Starscream, as I had no G1 Starscream before I got him, so I benefited from both the figure and the accessories. But I feel bad for anyone that already bought the ER figure or even had an older version of him like the Classics figure.

Because it's social suicide at this point to fight it openly. People that whine about over-sexualization and treatment of fictional girls know exactly what buzzwords and accusations to make to get people to sympathize with them and despise their opponents. I don't even have anything to end this with to make it uplifting, because it does just feel fucking hopeless as an artist. I'm trying not to let it get to me and turn me into a complete doomer but how do we get out of this?

Hrmm. Is Legacy Armada Starscream acceptable for $24 usd? I know about 3P swords existing for him, but are there any upgrades for his wrists out there yet? Or, maybe an alt back panel that has a 5mm port for a potential micron? Idk.

im glad you like him anon, all the minicons deserve some love.
Unfortunately he's not among my favourites in this gacha assortment.
I really enjoy his alt mode but his robot mode leaves much to be desired in my opinion.

I think having the mouth folded down is a better choice than obscuring the head by folding it inwards and also my copy has a really tight right arm so I couldn't rotate it.

I do enjoy his simple headsculpt, mainly beacuse of the green eyes popping against the gold and grey.
I really dig his colour pallete too. idk what type of blue it is but I think of it as an almost pastel blue? the grey is good and doesn't wash out details and the subtle use of gold and lavender/purple are really appealling to the eye.
