Antique Mall in Virginia Beach, VA. it's on Bonney Rd.

I'm not being mean, this place will genuinely blow your mind. If you want regular modern toys just go to a Walmart and spend your travel money there. The Antique Mall is filled with old treasures you'd need to travel to find. The whole 2nd floor is toys and it's even spilling over into the first floor.

Or just shop on eBay and consider the shipping costs to be your travel cost? For example, I can take a train into NYC to visit some stores there, but that's roughly $40 round trip + parking at the station. How much merch can I get shipped to me for $40?

plus... there's a beach nearby, in Virginia Beach

I go here about once or twice a month and they seem to have a completely different stock each time. I can spend literally hours in there

it's called "Antique Mall" and sure there is a lot of actual antique merch there, but the toy section is not actually "antiques."

I'm too lazy to google it for you, but I bet there are a ton of reviews somewhere that will tell you if it's got the things you are looking for. I think it might be exactly the thing you're imagining about; a huge treasure cave of endless wonders

You're better off going to small collector shops like comic stores than a "big" store unless it's a market like Frank and Sons. Toys R Us is dead now but as far as stuff that'd be of interest to a typical collector it was like maybe 8 aisles, tops, of toys and the rest stuff like preschool/toddler toys , kiddie bikes/vehicles, girl's toys, etc.
