>>10533262The blade piece goes over the dart when it's chambered to stop it from getting pushed out of the clip, you can cut it off and it will mostly still work fine with just a few jams occasionally. As someone who tried doing top loading like this though, I'd say don't bother unless you also mod it to use half lengths. There's just not enough room to load normal darts without bending them, and once they're bent they jam very often especially with that blade piece gone.
