>>10535785>because people are still throwing shitfits over B&R over 20 years later and lump Forever in with it, we barely get any figures. It's funny because as much as people act like BaR took Burton's Batman, glammed and camped it up, and that that is what made it bad, regardless of it being being released first, Forever is closer to that description while still remaining more faithful to the Burton themes about Bruce as a character. I grew up watching '89 and loving it, but it took a backseat to Forever once it came out, which is something I grew uncomfortable sharing over time for the reason you made about it getting lumped in with BaR.
>Also Batman & Robin is the perfect Batman movie to show to a kid between 5 and 9.Yes as well. The thing about BaR that I didn't release until a decade ago is that it it shouldn't be judged as an heir to Burton, or even Burtons attempt to take Batman back from Adam West and reframe him closer to his earlier tones, which had just been proven resonant with the success of DKR. Ironically, when you watch BaR as a contemporized version of the Adam West Batman, and set aside the Burton themes (which there was zero demand for in the 90's) not only does it click, not only are you able to recognize how comic booky absurd, ridiculous, and wonderful it is, but (and this is meant in good faith, but could also be read as a qualitative indicator) it doesn't feel far off from most of the movies put out by Marvel since Endgame, and even before in a few cases.
