>>10593283>What's the general philosophy for companies making one scale over another. In the West 1/12 or 6in has been king for a while. Companies memed it initially because it didn't really cost them more than 1/18 or 3.75in but allowed them to vastly overcharge customers without repercussions because customers thought they were getting more for their money.
A part of that willingness to get memed into supporting 1/12 was that at the time the scale was generally better for articulation and detail, but as you pointed out with the Toy Alliance Android, that basically isn't the case anymore. Unfortunately, the Western toy market doesn't care much, so fewer companies do 1/18. The companies do are generally in one of the following categories.
>Niche Chicken fried toys with their cowboys and Boss Fight Studio with their Hero Hacks and Vitruvian Hacks lines
>Chinese or Taiwanese like Hiya, Joy Toys, and Toy Alliance
>5POA nostalgiabait like Super7's reaction line and Hasbros Indian Jones retro line
>cheap poorly articulated kids' toysThere are lots of these, and the figures generally aren't very good, but it's a great way to get vehicles if you're willing to put a little time into painting them.
>Doing things that are so big they would simply be too expensive to produce in 1/12 scaleSo Mattel's Hammond Collection, Mcfarlane's Avatar line, and Creative Beast Studio's Beast of the Mesozoic line (this could also fall into the niche category since it's a super small company).
There are exceptions of course, like the Star Wars Vintage collection but you could probably also put it into "too expensive" to be 1/12 since the SWVC actually has a decent number of vehicles and diorama sets that would not be possible with the Black Series.
