She rejoins the Autobots and makes scattered appearances in big fight scenes.
Standout moments include panicking after a bout of PTSD, getting a pep talk from Ironhide and doing the weaponizer thing with Cromar.
Speaking of, has anyone tried replicating this with Cromar or Sixgun?

It was. Juan Samu, who did the Back to the Future crossover, filled in for a few pages in the last issue of the 2019 ongoing.
I wish he had done more. He draws a nice fembot.

Apparently Megatron is suffering from an assembly issue. The back of his knees have a weird hook-like peg that does nothing but restrict the articulation. It's not visible in the instructions so it's clearly not meant to be there.

It's not a misassembly, it looks like that hook got rotated 180 degrees in the digital design somehow and nobody caught it before it went into production. You can just about make it out on the instructions that the hook should be facing upwards.

Yeah, I definitely wish he had somewhere to go in alt mode.

Despite a few obvious flaws, it's a fun figure with cool proportions. I love the way the lights on the bumper swing around and show through his torso. Lateral ankle tilts would really take him to a whole new level. I wish the perfect effect cab was easier to get a hold of at a decent price.

For some reason the Magnus in my head is armed to the teeth, even though I despise IDW from start to finish.

Yeah, in phase 2 of IDW they treated "Ultra Magnus" as a mantle that was passed down across many different bots, with the current one being a little dude named "Minimus Ambus" who had a crazy strong spark that made him a "loadbearer", capable of powering armor much bigger than himself. For some reason, on the Takara version I have, they repainted him as Alpha Trion. But he's still a pretty fun little bot with a beard and moustache that transforms into a neat little hovercar.

I like the idea of a particular piece of armor specifically being passed down to different transformers, i'd like to see that used someday as a regular thing.

This is what you get when you work with hearsay information about comics you haven't read. I didn't even like the later IDW or Roberts stuff but this honestly wasn't the worst thing. He just wants to be able to make the species have more people, bc robots can't give birth and as far as he knows, all the spots that birth out sparks have gone out.

There's a groove in the side of his hips that are needed for transformation.
the groove isn't there in siege. But there is a gap, so it MIGHT work, but the flaps would still end up loose.

Local Target supposedly had one SS RotB Optimus left in stock this morning.
Hopefully they can fulfill the pickup order I just placed. The next closest Targets are ~50 miles away and they were showing super low numbers too

Looks great! But I definitely wouldn't call that "an easy Mindwipe retool" considering only the torso is Mindwipe. With the monster mode head and arms (robot legs) from the G1 toy, and monster legs (robot arms) from TR Skullcruncher, there's more of him that's not Mindwipe than is. Heck, he's practically more of a G1 remold than a Mindwipe one. At that point, you could take just about any other torso and slap it in there without even affecting the transformation.

But like I said, it looks cool.

Doubtful. I haven't tried it, but the truck mode's front wheels and bumper are integrated above the waist in Siege and below the waist in Earthrise. I figure swapping out the hips and thighs would likely leave one with two sets of wheels and bumpers and the other with none. Personally I think Hybrid style is still the best, at least in concept. Taking the toy design as a base, improving it, but not being afraid to change and stylized parts here and there. This seems like the exact same problem as MP44 but In the complete opposite direction. This is going to be a fun novelty but I don't think I would want a whole line out of it. Obviously I could have just bought him from ebay or something, but the kick of finding him for a good price in my country (and knowing it's from some random guy, not a scalper or dude keeping 5 MISB Overlords up his ass) is unbeatable.

That's fine as you can obviously have your opinion. Generations Scourge had some novel things going for it, going out of it's way to allow for animation error accuracy, the neat combining guns and that really awesome altmode.

Cyclonus imo has less going for it, Robot mode is solid aside from one glaring issue, the target master is well done and can even attach the way it did in the headmaster cartoon but the robot mode is hindered by having the exact same issue as the recent Pointblank were the arms can't swivel in at the elbows, the vehicle mode looks half finished with the lower half of the legs not fully covering the upper half and not really securing in any solid way. The only thing I'd say the Universe figure does better outright is having a nicer sculpted face, Kingdom's looks like a total mongoloid.

It should be noted that G1 used a mixture of character roles and voice actors doubled up to figure out who was in an episode. Wheeljack showed up a lot because Wacky Plot Inventions and because Latta was already going to be in the booth recording Starscream. Ironhide could be an ornery second in command because Cullen is Optimus in the episode. Welker's gonna be voicing his usual? Can we work in Rumble or Trailbreaker into the script? Etc etc.

Got Armada Megatron. Aside from the robot mode proportions and extra articulation, I find it to be dissapointing:

-The shoulders are just awful and nothing locks in place. This is such a huge oversight. Did they forget?
-Turret can't spin 360 .
-Missiles on the original were meant to flip forward in tank mode, they can't on this version, but they added a swivel to them for some reason?
-The left hand looks ridiculous and can't hold anything. I don't understand why they couldn't just make it a closed fist with the details of the knife hand.
-In hand, it feels so plain. Gimmicks are one thing, but since it lacks a minicon (could double as an extra weapon attached or a handgun) and the knife, it almost feels underarmed.

indominus looks like an allosaurus. it has the distinctive triangular head cross section and everything. it's presumably based largely on giganotosaurus (which is a big-ass allosaur) after they went the "let's keep busting out big things to rival the T-rex" route then said "hang on, we can't pronounce 'giganotosaurus' and we KNOW everyone's just going to say 'gigantosaurus' and also we're stupid and want to do something new, so we'll make a chimera"

well actually I'm kind of displeased with dino transformers in general. Kingdom Megatron is okay, but the head is undersized and the legs oversized, which is weird because that hurts both modes. Tail's too short too, but I understand that and forgive it.
the movie dinobots were mostly good, their problems have little to do with their designs, aside from Slash and Grimlock who just cannot seem to win. bad shapes and bad proportions all over with those two. The Beast Wars Neo ones usually look -okay- as dinosaurs, just weird dumb robot modes. Which supports your point that it's hard to do well.
But I DO have designs I've sketched up, for how better dino modes could be made.

also I could not have been more clearly derisive towards paleo guys in that post, not sure how you got it that wrong.

That's kind of odd. Anyway, I thought I. Rex looked kind of lame. If they're going to make a hybrid, why not go with something like the Ultimasaurus. They had free reign to go crazy with it, and instead went with a pretty standard looking dino instead.

The main bad guys (Megs, Soundwave, Starscream, Shockwave) are a lot easier to count than the main good guys, but essentially when you're talking about the characters with the most stories that they're instrumental to it's a little easier.

Optimus, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Jazz, Wheeljack, Ratchet.

Then in the 86 movie, they replaced a lot of the "main" cast so you get Ultra Magnus, Kup, Springer, Arcee, Blurr, and Perceptor. They're in a LOT of the last season of the show. But since they're specifically introduced as a new generation of characters, no one minds when a new show doesn't include them.

The comics, which ran at the same time as the cartoon, also had Prowl and Blaster feature prominently, so sometimes they're included.

Cliffjumper was voiced by a popular radio personality. So he's what you call a "fan favorite"
Like how in beast wars, Inferno got a lot of screen time and people loved him, but he wasn't really a main character and rarely did anything of consequence.

They have to be - if the head was bigger and feet shorter, it would be impossible to stand him up, because he'd be too top-heavy.

FWIW, it's extremely easy to mod the tank turret to spin 360. Look it up on youtube.
Additionally I saw someone on here a month-ish ago designing 3D-printed shoulders that did tab in together, and they looked good, but I've NO idea if he finished or where he might've uploaded them if so.
Agreed on the tank missiles, though, that's incredibly bizarre they can't go forward. And I don't know how you could even potentially fix summin like that without redesigning the entire top shell of the turret.

Disagree on the left hand though, I'm glad they retained its claw shape from the show and og toy. The lack of a shiv hand sucks though, but I fuckin bet they're saving it for the Megatron S recolor they're doing.

no I meant after 2009, they barely used him in voiced roles. the only ones were foc in 2012 and rid 15 in 2015. thats it.
he didnt take one series off, he took 4 out of the 5 since 2009 + the new bumblebee movie continuity. mind you all of these series use more g1 based characters than the beast era and ut/rid 2000.

a pretty basic retool would replace jhiaxus' wierd nosecone with a canon barrel, flip his hips around so the tailfin becomes the canon support underneath, then just remold his arms+wings to become the side supports with wheels.
