All in all, I'm happy and got almost everything I wanted. I really wish we could have gotten the Mystic Force team, and a complete Drakkon World of the Coinless ranger team, but im good.

I unironically miss bandai rangers sometimes. I know as a fact it's nostalgia but hasbro also just feels...I dunno, sterile? Quite frankly can't describe it. LC just feels off. Too produced, too plastic (pun not intended). Bandai rangers and their ridiculous sculpts are almost some soul vs soulless shit for me and I wish I didn't feel that way. Unironically been plinking around with my legacy figures lately.

I really wish Legends had a basic t-shirt body. They have a Peter Parker coming out with a t-shirt torso, but he's wearing a sport coat with rolled up sleeve arms. Hope they use that torso for future figures and make some basic t-shirt arms for it.

I would’ve wanted Ninja Storm and the remainder of Forever Red I think. But that would’ve been sufficient to me. I’ll buy almost any team, but the main ones for me were the three big Disney teams (2/3 ain’t bad), the evil ranger teams (2/2 is excellent), and a few of the main Saban teams (5/8 is pretty solid).

The legacy figures are fun, the articulation choices vs. your standard Hasbro affair makes them exciting to mess with. LC admittedly feels similar to ML or Classified.

That being said, while Legacy were fun, I can’t really overlook that most figures are just buff dudes with C grip hands. And they have almost as many paint and sculpt inconsistencies as Hasbro figures do.

Yeah I think the posability is what keeps me coming back. I can do some whacky ass revoltech poses with the legacy figures, but LC just feels very static in comparison. I feel like LC is overall the better figure, but I do enjoy my legacy gang at the end of the day, weird ass shoulders and all. A final hurrah for the steroid rangers era.

At least they're giving us a proper Rita before calling it quits. Although I still don't understand why they added that golden mini dumpster in the middle of the magic wand. Sure, the Lightning Collection has always had its inaccuracies, and yeah, there IS a little gold piece under the head of the wand, but to expand it into this gigantic (but still tiny) recreation of Rita's space dumpster is such a weird thing to do.

I need help choosing between a line of rangers.

I have the S.H.Figuarts Green Ranger already, and I was gifted the Mezco One:12 Green Ranger, I have a full line of Lightning Collection, but dead honest, the best thing to come from Lightning Collection is the monsters and the mook armybuilders. I want something better.
I'm torn on buying a full set of Figuarts Rangers for aftermarket prices. I have this random green ranger Mezco now and while it is nice, the biggest gripe I have about the Mezco is that the green ranger is fucking gigantic compared to every other line. Pic for reference.

I normally wouldn't scalefag, but I'll admit I was a bit bummed to pose him against some of the monsters of the line because he was so gigantic and made the monsters look less imposing.

Should I just pull the trigger and buy the figuarts?

if you want them to be in scale with everything else you're going to be disappointed with the figuarts. They are tiny. the Mezco towers and they are going to be the opposite, coming in almost a head below the lightning collection ones.

God damn, really? My Green Ranger I recall was about the same as my Shinkouchou Seihou Gokai Red I have pictured there, I'll have to pull him from storage to re-compare. I can kind of handle the size disparity with them being a bit smaller because it keeps the monster from looking tiny.

I was dead when they first showed the overzied greebly mess of a Dino Megazord. They doubled down by making the dragonzord a manlet and trippled down by making the astromegazord 2 times as large as the dinomegazord. Hopefully putting the LC line on haitus mean pruning of the hasbro team and getting shit together.

Not true, the Putrids also have new forearms, shins, feet, and belt. The only additional part a Quantron would have needed is a chest armor overlay. Though Hasbro would have been able to sell two different Quantron figures with those parts, versus just the one Putrid.

Man that first figure was terrible. Adam release was an improvement, but those arms being unable to rest at the sides was always a huge fail on Hasbro's part. How did the biggest toy company who had been making 6" figures for ages fuck up such a basic thing?

The point of his video was people needed to temper expectations because they were already fantasy wishlisting stuff like Masterclass style Megazords and GI Joe-tier load outs for accessories. In this day and age when you can easily access Youtube reviews, how can you still speak of unwarranted criticism? It's not like you need first-hand experience to know that MMPR Red had a differently colloured torso or that half the masks were inaccurate. I'd put Trinis head on one of the Marvel Legends figures of the girls from Shang Chi. The skin color shouls match kind of. The clothes being stereotypical chinese for a vietnamese actress is suboptimal, so I'm open to any other suggestion for figures of civilian clothed asian characters

How quickly people forget the Cheddar Ranger, or the silver belts, or removing articulation points on Zeo and Dino Thunder to save money. If you compare apples to apples, Legacy was a colossal fuck up in its own way, with arguably as many paint issues and QC issues as LC. The figures themselves were debatably as good as LC, but the accessories certainly weren’t. Never mind when Bandai straight up asked people to buy more female figures or they would end the line? I don’t think Hasbro could shit the bed that hard if they tried.

I can't find it now, but I saw a comparison pic of the two pack and the Remastered Rita figures on Instagram. It's not just the face plates and the color correction of the dress pattern, the dress is longer and baggier and wand is bigger compared to the two pack's.

It's certainly weird how Hasbro all but ignored the target demo and relied primarily on collectors to turn a profit when Bandai's method was tried and true with 25 years of success. Yes Bandai was making more older skewing products towards the end of their tenure, but that was just the icing on the cake. The current season kids toyline was always their bread and butter.

Speaking of belts, anyone else prefer how the original belts had sculpted coins compared to the remastereds only being tampos? It may be easier to make out the animals on the tampoed coins, but it looks cartoonish to me. The sculpted coins are what they look like in the show. I like the black lines on the remastered belts, but I'm tempted to swap the belts with the original releases and paint the black lines myself. I also don't love how remastered Green has the wrong holster because Hasbro was too lazy do a unique belt mold for Tommy.

I still can't get over how Hasbro fucked up the Blade Blasters. The holstered ones can be easily gripped when they don't have to be, and look huge in the holsters. The bladed ones are smaller and can barely be held, but as a result look great in the holsters. I can’t tell you how many things I saw online about how Legacy MMPR had squeaky hips and the advice to fix it was to drop dish soap in them. I had three with that issue myself. I’m not sure what’s worse, Hasbro’s hit-or-miss QC or Bandai’s intentionally bad design choices for Legacy, like only giving 90% of their figures sheathed sidearms. It’s genuinely “pick your poison”, but acting like one line is significantly better than the other, or that only one experienced QC issues, is laughable.

King Sphinx has a feline, cat-like face and the LC Sphinx looks more like a vampire than anything else. The S7 Sphinx may not be perfect (it's nowhere near as good as the old Bandai figure), but at least it looks like it has a general idea of what King Sphinx is supposed to look like. Not to mention all the paint that LC Sphinx is missing that S7 Sphinx isn't. Literally the only nice thing about LC Sphinx that S7 Sphinx doesn't have is the question mark fireballs accessory.

That's not the compliment you think it is. All of Super7's figures look like rough approximations of the actual suits, with no care put into making the details accurate. The mouth and eyes on the S7 Sphinx have completely different shapes than the show suit. You're just distracted by extra paint apps.

This reminds me, a few months back someone posted a side-by-side between the Megazord suit and the S7 render. The details were noticibly different, the legs especially. Extra paint doesn't make the figures more accurate.

The ReAction Zords kind of suck. You'd be better off getting Hasbro's Retro DFM. That one scales well with LC Goldar, whereas the ReAction really doesn't scale with anything. It has better articulation and a better sculpt as well. The ReAction is only better in the paint department, but with some Gundam markers you can fill in the missing details on the Hasbro figure without much trouble.

The fight scenes in Beetleborgs were heavily censored or toned down compared to PR. If you watched up to Metallix the last few fights in the series were just beamspam.

Beetleborgs in general seemed like a response to all the complaints Fox was getting about Power Rangers being too violent for kids. Probably why it was written as a comedy first and foremost and why the hillhurst monsters got the majority of the screentime through the shows run.

Luckily I don’t think Space and Galaxy have that issue. If you can get over the proportions, and that Space Pink has different shoulder stripes than the rest, and that Galaxy Yellow is the only Galaxy ranger to not include her saber, then I think both teams are perfectly adequate.

You could paint the shoulders but you might run into paint rub without proper sanding. Personally I didn’t think it was worth the effort to fix. Psycho set is considerably easier to get, you basically just need the five pack (which is admittedly expensive), and the Psycho Silver 2-pack, which you might get anyway since you can get Space Blue as well.

Pretty much. I love their licenses. Silverhawks, Toxic Crusaders... if there was another company that had the exact licenses they have and put out 6-7 inch figures, only it was actually quality product, I'd be content. I don't even have an issue with paying $50 plus per figure, as long as they look great. I was ready to jump completely into their G.I. Joe line after the first wave, but then the entire second wave came out looking like happy meal toys... it completely nuked my interest. Many such cases.

I was lucky to not have any of wave 1 to break on me. Overall, besides the cartoonish paint on the human heads, I think everything looks great for once. There’s a lot of paint and 90% of everything looks like the renders. Goldar especially looks great and has a good shelf presence with the T. rex Zord. The only issues this line has is general QC issues but the figures themselves look good.

from what I've heard what we got as Beetleborgs essentially came about as the result of Saban merging together two show concepts they were working on as they didn't have enough of a budget to do both at once, one of the concepts was adapting B-Fighter(probably would have still been lighter compared to PR or even VR Troopers but probably not quite to the degree we got with Beetleborgs), while the other would have been the monster characters as their own thing(which itself may or may have not evolved out of a discarded pitch for a Bulk & Skull spinoff)

I've been out of the loop for a while. Wasn't Cosmic Fury supposed to use these suits, with a female lead and to stop relying on Super Sentai for robots and stuff? I just watched the OP and the suits are still Ryuusoulger's and the robot is from Kyuuranger.

I assume it's the first episode's opening and it's a case of "We don't want to spoil the new suits" and they'll add the Cosmic Fury suits to the opening once they get those powers in the show.

The opening is for episode one, there are at least 3 version of the opening across the 10 episodes but we don't know how many, might even be one per or something silly.

The Kyuuranger mecha are used because the NZ team just straight up aren't equipped to do their own mecha shoots, it's a different set of skills and specialists you need to do it well, it's partly why I worry for this supposed 100% original reboot
