>>10553434PR is absolutely on hiatus, and its likely all product will be canceled. The cobra kai figures came out and didn't do well.
Toys are given a square footage of store space. New items are designed to take up that space. The more lines you have, the more space you take up.
The goal is to be like marvel where half the aisle is yours. Marvel is so diverse and has so much different types of toys.
Motu is currently not doing well because it only has 2 types of product.
Most stores I have been too only have Megazords, LC, basics and a roleplay item. Lc is being Canceled and stores will only have the megazord stuff and the basic figures. This is actually fine for PR because the line is being rebooted for a movie anyway, so losing space isn't a big deal.
Look at the TF shelves and notice how much different product there is at least 5 different gimmick toys, 2earthrise lines (warrior, deluxe), temporary movie stuff, studio series divided into 4 different classes, and finally legacy which is divided into 4-5 classes. You can buy 20 different types of transformers toys, which makes the line super healthy. If studio series were canceled tommorow the line would still be healthy even if that was a huge toyline.
Motu has like 4 at most. Motu will likely continue as online exclusive until a new show comes out
Pic related has all the generations "classes" which is only 1\3rd of the TF line and are each different prices
