It's just I don't have access to a 3D printer so I wouldn't be able to do it myself. I could see myself spending around $100 on a diorama (no props, just sculpted and painted walls/floor), depending on the quality. If it were unpainted I'd expect the price to reflect that. Selling unpainted wall segments and props to build up your own diorama might be the most cost effective option, and I'd be OK with that since I have experience painting models. I'd just imagine that it would appeal to fewer people. Hell, I've seen people just selling STLs if you wanted to start small without any overhead. I could look into hiring a third party to have it printed and shipped to me.
Another thing is, most of the figures I collect are from modern-day settings. So things like alleyways, parking garages, sewers, urban environments would be more appealing to me. But I think sci-fi, fantasy and modern options would pretty much cover the majority of figures.
