All because we didn't let HIM (or then, it might be 2) make it.
He's complained for a long time now.
First it was "if you don't post the old thread it's not the real general" then it was a long fight to demand pastebins identify the "real" thread.
Then it was adding the line about the thread being in autosage all the way to page 9.
He made up that last stupid rule so he'd have a better chance at being the one to make the new threads that way.

And we put up with it because if we don't, he spams the board or mass reports to get threads deleted and ruins everyone's time.
There, you now know the last four to five years of history with /tfg/ and how terrible it is, and how we're all idiots for putting up with it.

I got Armada Prime the other day, and now I'm really excited/concerned to see how they do Jetfire and Overload. If they want to do Jetfire justice I don't think the regular Leader budget is going to work for him, and I can't imagine him being enough by himself to go in Commander class.
I do wonder if they're the next Haslab, that would get around the whole "Optimus will never be a Haslab" statement, but would be popular enough to get funded. I don't believe they've ever done it before, but adding in the standalone Optimus without a trailer as a separate add-on in the campaign would help boost numbers too. and let people display both the regular Super Mode, and Jet Convoy modes.

I think there's a more likely chance of Energon Optimus and Megatron coming out before the Cybertron counterpart does. AFAIK from behind the scenes, the lines are planned out 2 years in advance from the year it is released. We got Core Energon Megatron coming out next year and the success of Armada might push Hasbro to try out Commander Energon Optimus and Leader Energon Megatron in 2025. With the Cybertron updates next year, it could take a year for the team to see how well they do and that may make them get around to doing a Commander Cybertron Optimus and Leader Cybertron Megatron in 2026. Maybe.

I personally didnt give a shit about pretenders as a gimmick because the original clamp over shells were really basic, i just enjoy them aesthetically, but these post reminded me of figures like star saber or the perfect effect core magnus for the cw mold and if we were able to get a bunch of fun little core figures who combined into voyager sized bodies that would be pretty sweet, you could even get the raiden trio into that style, basically combine the pretenders with brainmasters, as long as the bigger forms werent just motu shit and were still roboty id be into that

Transformers as a meal ticket is done. If they keep spewing out stuff that looks the same, they're not going to draw anyone's interest. By look I don't mean design, although they may need to change that up as well, but Bay films just have a certain something that makes them obvious, and it's grown stale. Maybe a different look/feel would pull some people back, but Paramount doesn't seem interested in doing that.

Its pretty plain to see though that the only watchable movie was the one where Bay had the least power, so Lorenzo will drag Transformers movies to the grave. My only hope is that he doesn't kill the rest of the franchise when they go down. I really don't want to end up like Joetards.

Yeah, the idea of a live action TF movie has been pretty much poisoned in the minds of the general public(for good reason honestly), and I'm saying this as someone who doesn't hate them. The last two have been an improvement from the likes of AOE and TLK but theyre still too similar to the Bay movies for most audience members. from what I've seen I think the animated movie is going to flop hard. celebrity voice actors are gonna cost loads, and most people would not give the slightest shit about cybertron. plus, cybertron vehicle modes pretty much universally look like shit compared to earth vehicle modes and don't add any interesting design elements to the characters, so the toys won't sell either.

Do they even know their audience anymore? Most recent movie flopped because the fight scenes and the CGI (and the rest of the movie) were shit. With all of the faults the first 3 movies had at the very least they had a great blend of practical effects and CGI.

Idk, I'm not optimistic but depends how desperate the celeb VAs are considering they're starring in Transformers movie of all things.
Also disagree on cybertronian modes universally being shit, cool sci-fi vehicles have the potential to look sick as hell. Even the ones they made up for the studio series BB figures were pretty neat, barring Soundwave. It just depends if they're more WFC/FOC and less Siege. What's really going to make or break the movie I think is the artstyle, there's been a bunch of animated movies recently with amazing visuals and if this one ends up looking like a bunch of bland cgi robot dudes being puppeted in a video game level nobody is going to give a shit about it.

Eh, I appreciate it for what it is but can't help but not really... consider, it. I know the Pretenders were big characters, but they were extremely human-proportioned versus modern designs which try to merge their Pretender shells with their vehicle bits. Do you think modern TFs could be engineered in a way to be faithful to the comic Pretenders, like a Bludgeon that doesn't look like he's part-tank in vehicle mode, for example?

Legacy has been great.

I only hope they release 2.0s of all the siege designs (sideswipe, mirage less fat). Also adding the holes into jazz.

Other than that all the diaclone Autobots have been perfect.

Please rerelease earthrise prowl and Ironhide normal versions. My fav fig is dk2 guard. The studio series is worse.

Other than that, I really hope we get more repaints. Maybe a siege Autobot multipack. (All the siege Autobots rereleased, no battle damage)

The only series I missed was siege, so pls rerelease

he transforms in a way that his nice streamlined windshield is now pointing upwards on his chest.. meaning he has the appearance of a sunken, narrow chest with a gut. Subtly so, but enough that it makes you want a cooler windshield-chest that is broader at the top so he looks more heroic.

Potp is actually top tier historically. Everything siege-Legacy evolution except ankle tilts was developed in the dinobot and abominus sets. It was a promise to return to faithfully representing the transformers as opposed to whatever starscream was supposed to be

Something being a transitional step to good doesn't make it, in itself, good.

PotP has:
An Optimus Prime compromised for a gimmick
A Rodimus compromised for a gimmick
An Optimal Optimus compromised for a gimmick
A Starscream that's a combiner torso for some reason
Not enough Decepticon limbs to form a combiner out of Starscream without dipping into other combiner teams
An Elita-1 that's a Starscream remold and thus combiner torso for some reason
Her limb bots, which all shared the same mold
Dinobots compromised for the sake of being an unnecessary combiner
An oversized Predaking that doesn't scale well with the other CHUG figures aside from CW Devestator (who also doesn't scale well with anyone else), and it also needs a set of low-quality stickers separately applied

And your main argument for the whole line being "top tier" is that two combiner teams look accurate to their G1 iterations, something that makes up less than half the line, and one of them having no business being a combiner in the first place. You're ridiculous.

CW was fun but most combiners kind of ended up sucking and the limb bots all kind of stink. Combined bots can't really hold any pose and their mostly awkward feet/hands means they look goofy as fuck most of the time.

TR had some great deluxes like triggerhappy and twintwist but none of the voyagers/leaders really did anything for me. Kind of wanted sixshot but i never got him.

POTP is where i really checked out. Picked up all the terrorcons and punch/counterpunch and that's it.

Siege felt pretty good. Lots of really good toys but it was mostly characters we've seen a million times already, but it's where i really feel like i fell into the trap of buying a ton of transformers. Not too many other complaints outside of the battle damage and shockwave not just being a voyager. Spinister has a permanent spot on my desk I love that toy.

Earthrise was definitely a blur. Don't remember much off the top of my head outside of getting a pretty good Optimus.

Kingdom had some more interesting stuff than ER did. FINNALLY got a decent galvatron and fossilizers were rad.

Legacy/LE has been rough on my wallet. I know people love to bitch about it and it does deserve the bitching sometimes. Early Legacy was pretty rough but i feel like they've gotten over the hump to some degree and i've really been enjoying the variety of characters.

SS86 has been aight. Don't have many complaints but nothing has really blown me away. I do like gnaw a lot and i'm thinking about getting a second one. Oh, hot rod and grimlock were nice and i really like the kup mold outside of the facesculpt.

I guess i'd go
Siege, Kingdom, Legacy/LE, TR, SS86, ER, CW, POTP

They're technically two different characters - the Red/Black one is the original Rhinox Tankor from Beast Machines, while the Yellow/Green one is from the Universe comic, where he's an alternate-universe Tankor chassis piloted by 'someone else's Spark'; Ask Vector Prime (take it with a grain of salt) goes on to say the Spark in question is a version of BW Scorponok from a timeline where he and Terrorsaur didn't end up falling into lava, and where he and Obsidian teamed up to murder Megatron and conquer Cybertron for themselves. I liked the mold enough to get it twice, and even though it's not accurate at all to the show model, it's far larger and more intimidating than the more show-accurate version of Tankor that came later (seen here on Autobot Stockade, who is also from the Universe timeline/toyline, but who sadly didn't make it into the comics alongside their partner Magna Stampede for some reason).
The scarier looking cannon, spinning sawblades on the wrists (which can be exposed to attack people in vehicle mode as well), light piping and moving mono-eye in both modes, moving robot jaw, and the fact that it feels sturdier overall makes the bigger toy the superior mold in terms of playability, even if it doesn't really look like Tankor.

NTA but I have the Takara Dinobot boxset + the TDW upgrade. The upgrade makes for a really nice combiner, but honestly as just standalone toys they're not that bad at all. Not incredible but I think they're fun. Helps admittedly that I'm not a massive stickler for accuracy.
The SS Grimlock and Snarl look great, Sludge seems off somehow though and I genuinely don't like how Slag looks. The dino mode looks weirdly squashed?

Two different collections. I bought Fans Hobby for my MP G2 collection so its the only one in that regard & I enjoy it for that. I never bought it thinking it would ever replace the G1.5/G2 original. It goes no where near my CHUG stuff. I don't believe what they would do with a new Pyro will replace the original in my heart, especially when I look at modern Commander/Leader class figures. I like the figures in those classes when they have nothing to do with Prime or look a likes like Grimlock or Sky Lynx whereas figures like G2 Laser Prime or Earthrise Prime were disappointing to me.

I don't think he's comparable to the SS86 as that thing dunks on even the MP for a fraction of the price. Feels like Apples to Oranges but I do enjoy the PotP for what he was

TFA Sentinel WOULD be my #1 pick, if it weren't Legacy. Sentinel's whole point in his design was he was already based off of a cartoon character (The Tick), so he *needs* the artstyle faithfulness almost more than any other character.
Therefore, my second option is IDW Sentinel: his Megatron Origin design, specifically, not the TR one (esp since he GOT a toy of that design IN TR, lmao). I know it's a meme, but it really surprises me how many people believe this. Most of the comics (including a ton of major lore introduced during Marvel that was carried over to nearly all future TF shows and comics after) was written by British writers, and the same goes for the situation with Beast Wars, as that was a Canadian production. And that's letting alone the fact that there are arguably MORE Japanese TF anime than there are western cartoons, and all the JP-exclusive manga.
It's part of why I like Transformers so much: it's sincerely a bizarre melting pot of several different influences from across the globe, with no one "central" source of influence or ownership. It's a franchise like no other I can think up.

Pyro would be perfect as a Bulkhead redeco with new head. The figure would look mostly like his botcon version, but the folding canopy could be covered in hazard stripes and replicate his little base. Give him Armada Megatron’ cannon arm to plug into his mace, and he can even have a nozzle hand.

Finally got my Megatron/Senator rat at pack. Now for a small review:

-colors look amazing on both, though you need to be mindful of Ratbat's chest paint when transforming it.
-The changes to the Megatron mold are a massive improment, the original's chest always looked too wide, so the new one looking a bit more slender helps his profile.
Megatron's new head sculpt is solid, but the already annoying transformation for vehicle mode got more annoying since the nee chin gives you less clearance for the alt mode and you run the risk of warping the chin.
-Megatrons accesories are pretty cool and a pick axe/ sickle weapon is pretty unique. The lack of fusion cannon is a bit dissapointing, guess I'm just too used to them. On Ratbat, the reuse of the Sweep gun is a dissapointment, but I guess it's better than nothing (looking at you, Senator Shockwave).
-Flying boat mode is honestly gorgeous, it perfectly captures the glamour I expect from a rich jackass and his fancy yatch

All in all, a good set and I highly recommend it over the Orion/Shockwave set.
