For me it was buying into the hype of live action import figures. I wasted so much money on Star Wars and MCU Figuarts thinking I was building a premium, limited collection of legacy franchises. Now all these motherfuckers are still on deep discount.

I bought sequel trilogy stuff: 3.75, black series, Lego, even 18 inch big figs I bought most of it before the last Jedi came out, at the time I was still convinced it was gonna be good even though I didn’t really like the force awakens. Now I’m stuck with all of it and it’s not worth anything, let that be a lesson about buying into hype

I spent $80 on a Nendoroid when I was in middle school. I've only used it a total of 3 times and now it just sits on my shelf. Hasn't been opened in a few years.

Letting myself fall into FOMO and completionism. I got into domestic lines in the last few years after having been import only for over a decade. Because the toys are so cheap by comparison I was buying not just the core characters but tons of tertiary nobodies like the background characters for tmnt, d list marvel heroes just because they are x-men, etc, looking at it now I've got probably 4 or 5 nobodies for every 1 figure of a character I genuinely like. Its not even about the money just about the space and having a shelf full of shit I have very little real attachment to.

Buying a bunch of neca stuff, not even trolling. I put so much money info figures that I probably will never be able to resell just based on them not really being worth anything and the vast amount of them that I have. Kind of wish I didn't go so deep into the figure collecting hobby desu, I'd rather have what I paid in my wallet right now.

Yeah for me, it's mostly anything Sequel Trilogy-related. I didn't think TFA was great but it still had potential but they really crashed that plane with no survivors after TLJ. That said, I don't hate the Resistance Rey Black Series I got though, since that particular version of her design looked comfy.

Toy shit in general, I've bought sentai figuarts out the ass and I wasn't even buying them off amiami and mandarake back in the day, just plain ol ebay for exhorbant prices.
I ended up donating it because literally no one was biting for the price, even though i kept lowering it. Got tired of it.

Spent so much on sentai figuarts I realized I could've gone to japan on a trip with that money and buy the figuarts there for cheap

probably the year i spent buying expensive statues instead of figures. i know i can sell them all for tousands, but they're so big and delicate i don't want to risk them breaking in transit.

figures have been so much cheaper and fun in comparison.
