I had two of the pistols, the rifle, a vest, three sensors (one came with the vest) and a deep love for the cartoon series.

I remember my mom explaining to me that it said on the box for the rifle "laser is not actually visible" when we were still in the store, and when we got home she had to remind me that I shouldn't expect to see it because she already pointed out that the box said it was invisible.

Adam Savage actually used a different model for his first attempt at replicating Deckard's gun, though as a teenager he was only able to use VHS freeze frames as references so it didn't end up looking all that similar

He has done several over the years including variations like a snub nosed pearl handled one based on a water gun, but his newest build is nearly perfect aside from being slightly too shiny which is impressive considering he didn't see the original one in person until relatively recently

He started with a water gun that happens to be a very close match to the actual film prop in terms of dimensions, cheaper and more accessible than going off of a casting and also much easier to modify

Likely not, but don't forget that Mars Attacks was a thing before the movie existed, and I'm pretty sure the cards at least have been re-released within the past decade.
