>>10586243It's a lot easier than you think, friend. I can't freehand paint for shit, but the minis are designed to be basically paint by numbers easy, especially if you go at it like I do, and paint different things by material type. Tyranids? You have 3 colors; hard carapace shell, normal body, and claw/blade bits, that's it. Behemoth is blue shell, red body, black claws (I use silver), after that you could add a little bit more for extra detail, but that's optional.
Space Marines, just as easy; armor color, joints/undersuit, and then trimmings and decals, so for UM it's blue, black, and gold. EZ.
>>10586413No minis, no validation, your a nobody.
>>10586425Haven't played a game, but that's due to medical bullshit, otherwise, though, it's still fun as hell to build and paint and collect, as I don't do it for external validation or stupid shit like that. I like stuff, I get stuff, and having 100+ termagants is really cool because it's like my own personal little swarm. Mixing and matching pieces from other kits and varying them adds to that fun, so I'll end up with unique variants, too. There are many minis in the world, but these are MY minis!
>>10586831Absolutely wrong. Pic is a daemon prince I made of spare parts, but I really like this configuration as well, and not just as a "well it's what I could.build with spare parts". I have tons of soldiers with small little touches that I made myself to further distinguish them as my own. Pic is a bunch of non-standars minis I've made over the years. None of these can be built out of one single box, and not many were a simple arm swap or glue to accepting surface.
Don't get me wrong, I think the joytoy figs are amazing, I just asked think that collecting minis is very fun as well, and the criticisms given are flat out wrong.
