Look at this beauty. The tender is covered in mysterious black dust. I assume that's from the 40 year old insulation inside.

If it’s got the old soundboard make sure you insulate it from the tender frame before you try to run it. The old sponge or whatever turns to dust with age and the frame is grounded.

Luckily I knew better than to start it. The foam is conpletely gone. How would you insulate it? I asked around at 2 train places by me and they don't have a replacement. One guy said double stick tape but I don't know what he meant by that.

Electrical tape over where it will sit is fine. Then do something to keep the board from moving around. They’re suggesting the double sided tape as it will do both.
