>>10623830The steam locomotives on the bottom shelf there are probably worth that alone. Fair warning, the orange striped steamers there probably don't work, they're beautiful but apparently notorious for wheel alignment issues and burnt motors.
Manufacturers you want to look out for are Life-Like and Tyco, as well as cheaper looking Bachmann. Those ones tend to be on the cheaper side of things and are more toy-like in appearance. The motors aren't the best either, although sometimes those Tyco motors are tanks and last forever, despite being loud.
If you get later Bachmann, Athearn, Walthers (Proto1/2k) or especially Kato in any of these lots, they're great runners and highly reliable, very worth the price.
Watch out for tracks too. If they're brass rails they're basically worthless, no one uses them anymore and they require a lot of cleaning. Steel rail can be okay, but it rusts pretty easily and arcing from the wheels of the train running on top can cause lots of grime buildup. Nickel Silver is the best, and usually the rails are kind of a light yellowish silver, if that helps.
