A better comparison is TF deluxes. 25$ japanese will give you a very gappy figure. However all the joints are smooth joints and its hard plastic. American toys are softer, but less gappy.

So its a difference in design. Japan is higher quality, but you have to pay more. American is a kids toy, but its a pretty good kids toy compared to pre ML stuff

It is when a skirt or cape blocks the movement of the legs, so the figure can only stand upright. Gorr is an example because he cannot move his legs upward. He has the articulation, but the skirt blocks it

They do it because the character design calls for a skirt, and when they did cloth skirts they looked cheap as shit because they refuse to spring for higher quality cloth goods. Things will never change because Hasbro is all about pinching pennies and does not care about making a better toy. They practically have a monopoly on the US action figure market, so what impetus is there for them to improve?

Shodo do not use stickers except where unavoidable (like the chest piece here, too complex for paint). Otherwise, they are all paint apps, even the eyes, and one of the best bang for your buck in shokugan.

You are probably thinking of So-Do, which is the same scale and extremely sticker-heavy.

The big factor is that Japanese toys, at least the ones that get generals here, are usually high quality goods meant for adult collectors (and have a higher price point to reflect that), whereas most American toys are designed for children to play with.

More like marketed mostly to adults at ostensibly collectors price points, but still need to be plausibly safe and playable for any kids that might buy. It's a lose-lose for both sides, Hasbro is the only winner, laughing their way to the bank.

In terms of precision manufacturing Japan is phenomenal. Japanese stationery is leaps and bounds above any Western stationery except maybe Rotring at any price point. I am often in awe at how much love and care these little items are made. It's like they never moved past 50s-60s industry when stuff was made to last forever.

Gundams are not made to be played with, they are still model kits at the end of the day. Many people seem to forget this. You also have to keep the price point and market in mind. Japan does make some really expertly crafted stuff, but they also make some cheap crap. Generally if you want something finely crafted, you're going to pay a lot for it.

Because people like to pose them. That way you can display them looking all cool. Careful posing is not the same as playing, they are not sturdy enough to stand up to much of that.

There are model lines specifically meant for younger audiences that are still fun to build, but can be bashed around more without worry.

Using Kamen Rider figuarts is always a shit example. Bandai has a hand in designing the suit and could just scan the suit actor's body for 100% accuracy while other lines like MCU and DB figures suffer

They don't though. Even SHFSS, the most accurate figures in the line, are original sculpts, built on a skeleton and muscle frame.

Just in case, you do know Shodo is little 1/18 scale candy toys, right? If you are interested in >>10610349 you probably want the SHFSS instead. You can also look into the Figurerise kit, Medicom RAH, or ThreeZero figures. When it comes to Shin Kamen Rider, there is a whole world of choices right now.
