Mass Effect was a great sci-fi setting. It just got squandered because Bioware decided to put it in the hands of diversity hires. Many such cases.

You mean bought out and gutted by EA and also fucked up ME3 so bad their fans had to reconstruct the game’s entire finale themselves? Then thoughtlessly rushed out a sequel with none of the original team that conveniently ignores ME3’s ending?

I legitimately think there's no such case. ME had Star Wars levels of potential to become a beloved, long-running franchise. I am still seething that they fucked it up so hard because they decided to hire incompetent genderpeople instead of investing serious talent into it. Even Andromeda could've been great. Actually it's the side stories like Andromeda that would have explored the potential of the setting and made it great. Imagine all the cool shit we could've had from ME. Imagine. AY Archangel. AY Samara with biotic effects. Thane, Tali, Legion. Maybe a Mako to scale so that the crew can have adventures. And then it drives up a ramp back into the Normandy. We'll never have this. Only a few shitty comics and a few novels. People are still starving for Mass Effect media and we'll have nothing.

It’s dumb to blame gay employees for corporate decisions and braindead project leads who wouldn’t listen to feedback and lied about the game like Casey Hudson. Then EA wanted a quick cheap profit off the title and that was it, they rushed Andromeda out and made sure it was basically unfinished.
ME3 killed the future of the series because it was now impossible to have future stories in that universe given the stupid ending choices, Andromeda was just the death twitch.

I too am still upset we’ll never get figures outside of the few crummy ones we did get. Still have my Shepper fig somewhere.
