I don't own a single NECA figure, but why don't many people pose them around like you regularly see with Marvel Legends, SHFs, Mafex and other lines? Even McFarlane collectors pose them around despite the below average range of motion. Is NECA Articulation really that bad?

Yes. If the things even have decent articulation to start with, the horrendous QC of NECA's toys means trying to achieve even slightly dynamic poses (or indeed taking the things out the box) risks breakage. And even if you do get the thing into a good pose without it snapping, you better make sure it's stable (good luck with finding a decent stand that will support them due to their arbitrary too-big scale and being generally quite heavy) because if they fall over, they WILL break.
Don't bother with NECA. Not worth it. Take it from someone who's been burned before.

Older figures like that Jason are not really posable. Single elbows, single knees, no torso crunch. Newer figures are way better. The Defenders of the Earth use the con exclusive DC body which is pretty good (basically an average ML buck), the Mirage TMNT humanoid figures are also pretty decent. Predators and Aliens are also fun to pose around.

I have bought multiple NECA products in the past and only two have not broken- and only one of those was free of major QC errors. NECA makes products that are unfit for purpose and you acting as an incredibly incompetent unpaid defence attorney for them is just pathetic.

Neca figures are good figures and look better than your average figure at that price point. A lot of NECA figures are of things that aren’t super posable in their media. Like most of their horror stuff has killers that just kinda do basic movement. You don’t see Jason doing a kung fu kick or Freddy doing a one hand stand. They work perfectly fine as ways to capture a character on your shelf.
