As to other sources, definitely look into Calico Critters/Lil Woodzeez and similar. They're more of a squat mix of 1:20 tall and 1:15 wide generally, but it can work. Otherwise, just keep your eyes open. Re-Ment does some fantastic stuff, special sets sometimes come out with unique items like the JP Spielberg with the (sadly lacking) creature dolly.
