Is that Hawk from the DIC series? And the triple T looks like an actual physical model versus the cobra stun. Maybe it's the next small vehicle, but a Stun would be great.

That makes a lot more sense, I haven't even seen Shadow Tracker for preorder yet. I am really looking forward to him although as far as I know they have not revealed the prototype for him yet.

The general pipeline is name reveal / render / prototype / photo reveal / preorder / retail.

I did run into an issue where the right-side canopy peg wouldn't peg into place. In case anyone else has this issue and wants to try to fix it; I filed down the front edge of the peg to this shape and now it pegs in like a charm!

But otherwise Shadow Tracker looks fantastic and it's going to kill me to not be able to get my hands on him since he's a Wal-Mart exclusive. At least Target eventually floods their shelves with their exclusives, Wal-Mart will just send you a completely random item instead and say tough luck.

At least with the NF Joes or the other troop builder Cobra, you know you'll see them in some other capacity. But Shadow Tracker is basically in his only known outfit and I don't see him getting any kind of mass re-release.

One of my favorites, the eagle, freedom, is easily the best animal so far. But this is just my opinion, so yknow I could be wrong. I'd say take a chance, the face sculpt is gorgeous.

I really like Spirit, he's one of my favorites so far. I just wish I could find a clear "flying stand" that's the right size for Freedom because then I could actually get some use out of his flight wings, and he'd look great in a lineup that way.

It's a real shame Spirit didn't sell better. Maybe if he came with a bow and arrow quiver that would have gotten him more attention, but I can understand why they wanted to steer clear of an obvious stereotype like that. Always had a soft spot for Metal Head but I guarantee the pegs for his leg launchers will be constantly sliding down his legs because of the weight unless they’re actually molded onto the legs.

If I were Hasbro I would have put the pegs on the rocket launchers and had peg holes in the legs, maybe with some kind of patch that can slot in like how Marauder figures work (but less flimsy and without needing glue to hold it together). Maybe it'll still work well the way they have it, I guess we'll have to see.

Of course, if wouldn't be the first time Hasbro put out something that was completely messed up by weight issues. Falcon can't even stand up with his backpack attached unless he's on a stand, because the backpack is a big,heavy, solid chunk of vinyl. The 25A version was at least hollow which gave you the nice play gimmick of being able to put stuff inside, while also making it lighter.

That is one thing I don't get about Classified. They keep wanting everything to be stowed on the figure, but only in certain ways, instead of making the packs hollow to give another option and reducing their weight.

A lot of what they say is just lip service. They're corporate shills just like all the other brand presenters. They just do a better job of it. Short answer; if you join Cobra and are a military school (IE VMI or West Point) type college graduate with a degree in law or business or political science, you don't have to start at the bottom of the barrel IE Trooper or Viper. You can start as a member of the Crimson Guard and do Cobra's work as a plain clothing agent or work a cushy security gig for the Crimson Twins or honor guard for Cobra Commander himself when you are in uniform.

Long answer: CG (or Siegees as they are called) are the troops, in theory, most loyal to Cobra Commander and work for the Crimson Twins purely to keep the fuckers in line as CC's eyes and ears spying on them. They all have the same face too (at least when Hama is writing them) because if one dies, they can replace the dead one with his double so Cobra doesn't lose access to the dead Siegee's position of power.

Unfortunately, in the Hama comics, the Crimson Guard are the Starscreams/Shockwave of the Cobra rank and file. One CG defected to the Joes (Wad Collins) and another killed Cobra Commander and stole his identity for a couple of years.

So in terms of play pattern, the Guardsmen either guard Cobra Commander or the Crimson Twins while they aren't plotting to hijack control over Cobra proper.

This is how Hasbro is going to get around that. I believe Guile, Sagat, Dhalsim and EHonda were the only ones based on there game art. The rest used existing GI Joe parts with new heads. I don't mind if those weren't made since JADA is already releasing them and scales with Classified.

PR is so desperate for a win. SF was pretty much a bomb. So was TMNT. Actually, TMNT bombed even harder. Both were offered up for dirt cheap even through Hasbro's eBay shop. Cobra Kai was slightly better by comparison to those. Still the line is likely dead because Hasbro doesn't know what to do with PR. They didn't finish the Cobra Kai set and are unlikely to do it.

Well shit. Also a quick ebay peek showed the cheapest two pack is going for 135 maple leafs, plus 20 shipping, and from china... so I may just hope for a reprint or wait for a different body to plug the head into.

They'd go out of stock and back up for preorders multiple times till they shipped and it was always the people who ordered the earliest who got cancelled. If you order again when things go back up a few months after the initial offering, you're more likely to get your item.

The Crimson Guard Immortals are an elite-within-an-elite, a group of Crimson Guards who serve as Cobra Commander's personal guard.

Overlord's filecard speculates he may have risen out of the ranks of the Crimson Guard and into the Cobra high command, but he never appeared in Hama's comics, nor the cartoon. The only GI Joe fiction that gave him any backstory was the Devil's Due comic, where he was a former Russian Spetsnaz guy that served as Serpentor's general.

Personally, I like em and think they fit the character well. G.I. Joe aren't standard reg soldiers, the fact RnR has a big bushy beard and so many of em have long flowing hair should be proof enough of that. So one of em getting some full sleeved tats isn't out of the ordinary.

But what I like and enjoy isn't what someone else may like. So I'm glad RnR came with the tats, but I'm also glad they were easy to remove by some anon who don't like em.

You know, it's funny you say that because as I was messing with the figure yesterday I was feeling that same thing. Even though past Lowlight figures never really gave me that feeling. A lot of people are liking Grunt so I'm sure you will. You should check more of the line out too. They are easily some of Hasbro's best toys and some of the better things on the shelves today, especially given their price point. I see plenty of people that collect them just to ktibash into different looking soldiers.

He's pretty fucking great. Really happy with him as my first Joe. Ended up ordering Rock n Roll too since he was on sale. My only gripe with Grunt is for whatever reason, Hasbro gave his right hand a horizontal instead of a vertical one to make shouldering his rifle easier. But then ironically they gave his other hand a vertical hinge. I guess I could just make him a lefty.

I feel like the best solution is usually to just swap the vinyl trunks and if necessary, paint the inside of the crotch piece to match. If the crotch piece is black that's usually good enough though.

I'm lucky that my figures have been getting delivered while my wife is at work so she's none the wiser. She doesn't get mad at me for buying toys, but like you I start to feel guilty if she sees me getting a bunch of stuff at once. I got Big Ben today. Overall I like him, although his pistol and main rifle suck and are very silly, so I'll replace them as soon as I can order some more printed weapons. Also mildly annoyed that he doesn't come with a backpack, but I have an extra Gung Ho pack that I can probably modify into something useable.

I was going to try and swap his boots with Falcon's because for some ungodly reason Hasbro put the gaitered boots on the jungle fighter and the jungle boots on the winter fighter. Unfortunately though, Hasbro was already a step ahead of me and Fakcon actually has the pegs on his boots and the peg holes in his legs, which is the opposite of all the other standard size joes (Big Ben also has tall legs and Falcon has standard length ones, so they wouldn't match anyway). I don't think there are any gaiter boots in the line that will fit Big Ben, and I guess when I get around to repainting Falcon I'll have to do a leg swap on him so I can at least give him some jungle boots.

It looks like Twipwire has gaiters on his boots which makes sense for an EOD character. No idea if they are cross compatible with standard GI Joe legs or not since Hasbro likes to screw around with things, but they might fit Big Ben if they can be sourced.

Sell me on the classified series.

I haven't bought a GI Joe since 2001 when I was a kid. Granted I collected anything could from the 80s up til then.

But, I have mixed feelings about the Classified series being 1/12 scale, and not 1/18 scale, effectively getting rid of vehicles and playsets.

I'm not ready to completely dismiss the classified series, but I have quite a few concerns as a "old" 30 year old GI Joe 3 3/4" collector.

But then the Classified Zarana looked so good and previously not a single female gi joe character had ever looked even remotely passable so I got her and the CG and the Twins and then eventually I caught up.
So it's not even like I've been following from the beginning. And I've also been a lifelong Cobra-only Chad and it's great that the Joes are the only ones with notable QC issues.

My advice? Pick up your favorite character first as an icebreaker and see if you want more. That's what I did, I picked up Snake eyes because he was my favorite character, and that was enough to sell me on collecting the line.

Not having the vehicles is an understandable concern, although as the line grows there will be more options. The RAM and Coil bikes are great, and the Vamp is coming soon. I missed out of the Hiss tank which I'm still kicking myself over, but there are going to be other crowd funders and retail vehicles in the future.

The other thing is, I collect both the Classified and 25A / 50A lines. The smaller figures are very fun to collect, army build and use with vehicles, although the 6" figures look really terrific on a shelf, and for my adult hands manipulating them is a little more analogous to how the 1/18 figures felt in my hands as a child, and I think that's part of why 6 and 7 inch figures have gotten so popular with adults.

You missed the great period of the modern era 1/18 Joes, which was probably from 2007 (the 25th Anniversary line) through about 2012-2013 (through the end of the Pursuit of Cobra and into 30th Anni/Renegades).

Classified is easily the best 1/12 scale around right now, at the very least for domestic lines. There are definitely vehicles, though the only two large ones, the HISS Tank and the Dragonfly have been Haslab crowdfund projects, and have both cost a few hundred dollars, but both come with four figures. They've done numerous small vehicles, mostly motorcycles (the Coil, and three different versions of the Ram Cycle) and they just released the Flight Pod/Tubble Bubble, and there's a VAMP coming up, so the amount of vehicles is starting to grow within the line.

There have been 100+ figures in the line so far, and you can probably count on one hand the number of truly bad figures.

I was pretty big on the O-ring figures as a kid, and I loved the modern era 1/18th figures from 10+ years ago, but I am pretty smitten by the Classified line.

I've been collecting Joes forever and honestly just grab one and you'll find out for yourself how good they are (well excluding the Snake Eyes movie figures). They are getting the best articulation setups Hasbro has to offer and I've very rarely felt like a figure wasn't worth the full price because they usually do a good job of including decent accessories compared to other lines like Marvel Legends. The vehicle thing is being slowly rectified and the fact that the upcoming VAMP is already declared to not be a HasLab means that our options aren't going to be limited to just one seater vehicles or pieces that cost hundreds of dollars and are one and done things. This is a bigger deal than people realize, yeah.
In a two or three years I bet they'll have smaller maybe 2-figure sized helicopters as normal (but probably pulse-exclusive) releases or like the Cobra Stinger with four seats

I had another idea in my never ending quest to polish the turd that is Classified Series Falcon. What if I just removed the radio from his backpack completely, re-attached the bowie knife section, and somehow figured out how to re-center the back peg? It would look a lot nicer and also be a decent bit lighter, which hypothetically would make him a little less prone to falling over. When these vinyl pieces have been boiled in water they're really easy to cut through, and with a little bit of sculpting and a repaint it probably won't be too hard to hide my crimes as it were. Eventually I'm going to do a full repaint on Falcon's uniform with proper Green Berety tiger stripe camo anyway, so the backpack will have to be lightened up to match.

Ollies got in about three cases of the Crimson Guard/Zaranna/Dusty wave a couple of weeks back and I didn't get to them in time so the CGs were gone when I got to the store.

Luckily, they got in a big restock (about 10 cases) today to coincide with the official sales paper saying they had them as far as release date.

Sadly none of the cases were Spirit/Storm Shadow/Cobra Officer or bastardized Snake Eyes v2 with the wrong pants and black Timber. BUT they got in about five cases of Crimson Guard/Zaranna/Dusty all untouched and about four cases of Snake Eyes movie figures; all priced for $5 a piece.

Granted I was probably being selfish as fuck but given my issues army building Vipers, I said fuck it for my second favorite Cobra troop army builder and bought ALL of the Crimson Guards that were on the floor, plus two extra Dustys for custom fodder.

Anyone else go by Ollies this week to check out what Joes they got in and if they have anything besides the CG/D/Z, S/SS/CO, and Deluxe SE2 in stock?

CG Immortals are vague as hell with no real media portrayals. Their file card says they are "elite" CGs and get to carry around big guns and are trained in martial arts too (since they came out during ninja mania).

Shadow Guard are a combination of night ops CGs and special "clean up crews" who go in to extract CGs who get caught or compromised so no traces can be linked back to Cobra.

Python Patrol are just plain snitches. They are assigned to Python Patrol to make sure Copperhead and the rest of the PP guys don't fuck up or try and double cross Cobra Commander and who report everything back to him.

There are also Crimson Guard Commanders, which are the highest ranking CGs in the organization and who wear (in their 90s figures) Viper-type uniforms complete with blank faceless faceplate masks. These guys later got more traditional recolors of the regular Crimson Guard costume (with gold face masks) in the modern line.

Overlord is implied to be a former CG but Overlord was skipped over in the Marvel comic and the DIC cartoon and tthe only time he appeared in comic form was Devil's Due, which featured him as a mercenary working with Serpentor.

They really should've given him different guns. The Valk weapons seem scaled specifically to be lady gear. The rifle is too small and his hands are so big and thicc that you really have to work at them to get the pistol in hand and the trigger guards get slightly deformed by the trigger finger when you do. The knife is way too small for someone doing heavy arctic shit, and as someone mentioned a thread or two ago he has no sheath for it. They're also going to be reusing this setup more figures in the future like the Strike Team and Heavy Metal and probably other figures I'm forgetting, so that's something to look forward to.

He's great overall, my only complaint is that the cool scimitar sword is bent to fuck while the less cool tactical katana was perfectly fine, because it's made of thicker plastic despite being narrower and smaller overall.
No paint issues either, which is great.
I don't have any of the other Snake Eyes to compare him too, though. I only got this one to be a nemesis for my arab girl Valkyrie.

as someone who mostly lurks the GI Joe thread since Classified took over, I'd recommend buying up the older 25th+ GI Joe lines. There's a shit ton of figures to choose from and there's a huge amount of compatible toylines you can add on.

Soldiers in 1:12 don't work and you can never do something like this. It just takes up way too much space and vehicles don't even exist in that scale.
Even on the shelf, you could put six to eight 1:18 figures without looking like a clusterfuck, but can only put four 1:12 figures before they start overlapping if they're posed in anything but standing straight up.

I do collect 1:12, but i'd rather buy higher end stuff. So I've been getting Mezco's One:12 GI Joes instead (all of a single figure has been released so far, because year long delays), since I'm not a fan of how most of Hasbro's current output isn't much of a step up from modern 1:18 lines.

You can't create a setting like this without learning how to sculpt and spending thousands to make 1:12 vehicles.

With 1:18, you can create a setting for cheap by adding a few vehicles for your figures to fight around in.
Plus, since they take up like 1/4th the space of 1:12 figures, you have way more area to play with, unlike Classified where it'll look like you're playing on the Shipment map in Call of Duty.

You're right, but in 2/3 years you won't be.
Hasbro underestimated the demand for 1/12 scale vehicles when this line started, as did naysayers such as yourself. But people do want them, people are willing to pay for them, and every single one in Classified so far has sold out.
And they'll trend bigger, even outside of Haslabs.
On top of them having an easy option to put out the HISS in blue in a few years with reduced accessories and pack-in figures.
The display space issue is an issue but it's not stopping anyone, it hasn't stopped me.

As someone who used to have the glorious ability to spread my Joe collection as far and wide across my living room floor as I desired, I kind of agree with you on 1:18 being great for large scale play. However, I completely disagree that 1:12 can not achieve their own kind of charming displays and entertainment. A focused, close up display of 1:12 figures can look really nice and tell a much more intimate story compared to smaller 1:18 figures.

But "taking up less space" is not an advantage of 1:18 figures, especially once vehicles and buildings get involved. I have a huge pile of boxed up toys in my basement right now, and all the biggest boxes are 1:18 accessories, without which the smaller figures just aren't as fun. But in the end of the day, scale wars are lame and not worth arguing about, both scales have their pros and cons and they each make for really fun toys.

The worst part is the fact that anything big has to be bought 2 years in advanced and you won't know if it's actually good until it arrives.

For the same price as an undersized 1/12 HISS, you can use eBay to buy a high quality diecast actual 1:18 scale Bradley with moving TOW missile launcher, opening crew hatches, reloading hatch, and a squad ramp+door, PLUS 3 or 4 Rage tanks for them to fight.
If you don't like used, you can buy a full scale 1:18 Abrams for $50 on Amazon and two HMMVs for ~$25, and a city square made from PlayMobil and Calico Critter houses/shops (all 1:18 scale) for your Cobra figures to hide in to ambush your Joes.
Nevermind you can fit any of these vehicles on your standard bookshelf, which you can also pose your figures around like a background. Having a large vehicle is an instant diorama on a shelf. Whereas the half-sized 1:12 Hasbro vehicles are too big. Only the bubbles, bikes, and maybe that vamp will fit.

If i had a mansion, I'd totally buy into 1:12 like I have 1:18, despite the lack of vehicles. But i have limited space and i could never build up anything a quarter as good as this without looking like a hoarder.

Also, when'd they say that the HISS was being released for retail?

Nowhere, dummy. They've said they wouldn't re-run Haslab stuff for retail except as repaints, the same way they've done Pulsecon exclusives where the Zartan has different colored armor and 3x as much shit as the regular and retro releases.
There were also bigger vehicles than the 1:12 HISS released in the previous Joe scale on store shelves. The Crimson Command Copter for example is longer than HISS will be and I got that from Toys R Us 20 years ago.

If this was the 2010s, at this point there'd already be a [i:lit]couple[/i:lit] dozen vehicles existing in the GI Joe line. In a single opening wave for the year, there'd be 3 or 4 vehicles, one or two of them being large ones. All available at stores.

You can say it's totally just the signs of the times, yet Jazwares is able to release a couple of vehicles for their Halo line every year. Same shit with Jazware's Fortnite line. McFarlane has also released vehicles for their DC line for under a hundred bucks too and even a couple of playsets. All of these lines are selling well, hence these companies still producing

All of these constant army builders and exclusives and price bumps are going to crack the golden egg fast. Take Scrap Iron, $45 for a figure and nearly immobile tank. Same price used for a Figure plus fully articulated pet. $10 more for 2-packs of figures or figure with mini vehicle. No one understands why the Trubble was $55 with underscaled bomb and no stand when duke with ram and breaker with ram were both $45. Even PP Trubble is $45. But this current overload we saw roll out for June and then get followed up in July, August, September, and we know is coming in October because they said so is going to become too much going to the well for another bucket. People will drop out. People will rage over missing exclusives. The line will take a hard hit as retail continues to clearance dump a wave 6 plus weeks after release.

Even their current $25 price it's overpriced.
I have a hard limit on what I'm willing to pay for the Classified line, especially for a figure that's not even old.

I mean, i think the Mezco line is also overpriced, but i don't see anyone else producing something better for cheaper (not even considering the fact they're paying for a license, unlike most one:12 copycats). So it's probably a fair price for all this cool shit that we don't get from Hasbro.

Speaking of which, Amazon has the One:12 Destroy for $72 and might be limited in supply (7 left ATM, but who knows if the other listings may take its place). Very cheap for what you get.

The weird thing is that despite Retaliation bombing, and some retailers halting support after the delay, the toyline didn't end up in Rosses and other outlets. Whereas the Snake Eyes shit did, despite retailers not ordering much in the first place.

Yes I collected the line at the time. The Pursuit of Cobra, 30th and Retaliation era saw some of the best figures the 1:18 scale ever has but it was fucking AWFUL trying to collect them at retail.

Scalpers swooped up the more desireable figures in waves instantly and TRU especially was filled with pegwarmers like Arctic Destro which prevented them from ordering newer waves at many stores. Fantastic figures like Lifeline and Sci-Fi from the 30th line were almost impossible to get at retail and people forked out many times the MSRP for them online. And when Retaliation rolled around the line was severaly damaged by the staggered release and the weird disjoint between high-quality figures and vehicles with 5POA stuff. The "ultimate" Cobra Commander from the Retaliation line is another figure most people never saw on pegs.

I'll be honest after the end of the Cobra Island disaster it has been easier to find Classified figures in stores than it was finding some of the 30th/Retaliation ones.

The dio pieces? Maybe, with the right angles. LA stuff skews smaller then western "1:12" stuff.

Also, scale wars crap can screw right off. Both have their pros and cons and both work extremely well for G.I. Joe. Hell, even the short lived Sigma Six 8" line of figures was surprisingly popular despite being so different to previous releases. G.I. Joe is just, overall, a great baseline to make toys of as long as some effort is put into those toys. And Hasbro frequently seems to put their best effort into the Joes they make.

I remember PoC vehicles showing up in Ross and Marshalls, strangely enough BEFORE Target and Walmarts put the new waves up. People speculated Hasbro had a bunch of unsold stock, because stores under ordered the vehicles, so they went straight to discounters (and quickly sold out)

Also, the Data Viper was highly sought after. Used to go for at least double on Ebay. It was a rare figure to find, since it came from the last waves, which weren't carried by Walmarts and Targets. Only TRU and KMart were the last big vendors for the delayed movie waves.
And it's still going for a lot more than many other figures from the Retaliation line, including other Cobra figures and army builders.

I love that Destro fig. Sometimes the Mezco price is almost levels out for what Hasbro offered on multiple versions of characters. Destro not so much, the $20 Classified nailed it. Roadblock on the other hand had 4 versions released cans none of them were exactly right do the Mezco works out to about $15 more.

And if what came up after Pulsecon is true and the Hasbro figs are going up to $30, it’s going to impact them greatly.

There are some other Joe sized options out there.

Valaverse has some really good guns, and they regularly release gun packs with like 6-10 different guns and effects parts (they actually just dropped two new gun packs, one with a .50cal anti material rifle, the other has a minigun with an ammo spray effects part).

I've picked up some of Gunrunners 1/12 stuff (they mostly do 1/18, but they have some fun 1/12 rifles and smgs with optics and accessories).

I've also heard good things about Gridiron's weapons and kits, but they're really expensive for addons (like more than the cost of the figure for a weapon and accessories) so I haven't bought from them before personally.

I already stopped buying the line when it cost $25, but that's mostly thanks to their shitastic Cobra Island exclusives and missing out on Major Bludd. Target ordered the bare minimum they can with the GI Joe line.
The least they could have done was re-released the figure, but nooope, because Hasbro can barely sustain the line as it is.

I hope Hasbro continues to fuck up, so they can let Hiya release their GI Joe line in the US.
For 1:12, Mezco is definitely the best choice, but at $90+, its understandably out of reach to many fans.

Baroness had a retro card figure put out recently and Tomax and Xamot both were recent figures that are easy to get on the secondary market.

No one is going to double dip, especially for a red variant since no one actually LIKES the Crimson redeco shit Hasbro likes to push.

MAYBE if they were done up in Python Patrol colors or Baroness was in her blue comic outfit and Tomax/Xamot on suit bodies, it might have sold. But as is, it's something NO ONE wants and is one of the reasons why it hasn't sold out while Chuckles DID sell out.

The Skystriker was something that at minimum should have been a project that was available thru online retailers from day 1, the same way that the Transformers collabs are. And indeed, the Skystriker did eventually appear on BigBadToyStore for $300, ruining the whole point of Haslab, which pissed off a bunch of people, since it means the Hisstank will probably eventually appear there as well.

And while I like the Skystriker, and think it's a neat sculpt, it's also too similar to the original, and just sort of a boring project. There was nothing about it that said that it should be a Haslab other than a display stand and blast effects. And they really shit the bed with their lazy o-ring figures(they let Modern Era die for this). The Snake Eyes they produced in the two-pack with Storm Shadow is the wrong Snake Eyes. The box clearly shows Version 2 Snake Eyes, who's fan demanded and has never been remade or re-issued outside of Black Major bootlegs. However Hasbro gave us yet another Version 1, when they've re-issued Version 1 too many times in the past. People want updates to the sculpts, but they're trying to treat them too much like Funko Pops, doing things like deliberately making a pilot Scarlett with her ugly original vintage head. Why? People want new sculpts. The best thing they did was those Sunbow Duke and CC figures, and they're still a bit dated on the head sculpts. The Sunbow Cobra Trooper in addition should have had the 2004 Trooper head from the Toys R Us set for example. And it's been the consensus in Joe groups that they would have wanted Super7 to have the o-ring license(read the S7 thread on Hisstank), on account of their Re-Action line having good original sculpts that are true to the Sunbow animation, and feature characters who never received a figure, but Hasbro never let them have it, and now o-ring may be dead again.

At this point I'm just waiting on them to do Retro Cobra Trooper and Retro Viper. And I felt like we've waited way too long for Retro Scarlett when we got Retro Roadblock and multiple Snake Eyes figures.

The line also killed my hype when they fucked up Dr. Mindbender. Even the new ones arriving have that shit with the fabric cape staining the figure. Mine arrived with the back of his head stained and all of his under arms. And just this past week I saw a guy on Facebook complaining about how the recent batch of Mindebenders still had the staining issue, and posting a picture of it on his copy.

Some Retaliation stuff ended up on clearance but it was mostly the stuff that came out before they decided to delay the movie: That stuff was left to rot in stores since the movie release was delayed by a year and it was almost only the movie-based characters that ended up on discount. The classic updates were hard to get across the board and scalped to shit and back. I bought almost all of mine via HISStank because forums still were a good way to get toys at the time.

Skybound entertainment is doing the hasbro comics now, there is a series setting it up called void rivals which leads into transformers and Duke books. Sounds interesting. Just looking around and it seems like the void rivals books have gone through multiple printings.

Yeah Marvel can legally use the planet Galador and any OC spaceknights they create. They previously believed they had the rights to the dire wraiths but someone at hasbro dug up a design document that was sent to Marvel back in the day that described the dire wraiths as ROM's enemies, so they are in Hasbro's wheelhouse now alongside ROM and his weaponry. It's a weird situation, but given that Marvel is getting comics rights to reprint the original ROM again next year, things may change.

As I understand it, Hasbro acquired the ROM rights when they acquired the company that owned him, this gives them the rights to the ROM character himself, his likeness, his weapons, and anything else mentioned on the toy packaging, so they have the rights to the name "Dire Wraiths", but not the appearance and lore Marvel created for them, nor any of the other Spaceknights Marvel created. Marvel can presumably still use their Spaceknights and Dire Wraiths so long as they don't use ROM himself.

There's some agreement been reached between Marvel and Hasbro for some comic reprints, but who knows if that will lead to anything more or not.

There was a Q&A with someone from Marvel where they said they would not feature "their" dire wraiths again after finding out Hasbro has the base copyright for them. So it doesn't look likely we'll see them again outside of reprints or a new licensed comic.

I doubt it. Marvel already lost the Conan rights again and can't reference any of the stuff they did with him. AGAIN. I don't think they're eager to keep repeating that mistake unless they can get the PERMANENT rights to a character.

In retrospect it's odd that Marvel thought it was a good idea to do a lot of new stories about Conan teaming up with Marvel heroes that they won't be able to reprint or reference again now they've lost the license.

Rom, Micronauts and all those other idle IP's of Hasbro were being saved to be re-introduced in the cinematic 'Hasbroverse' that the Snake Eyes movie was supposed to kickstart, so who knows what's happening.

The Marvel Omnibus's of Rom and Micronauts are a good sign that at least the door is open.

Several years ago before Classified was announced I thought a Hasbro Legends line could slowly cover all the bases but looking back that was way too optimistic.

my big brother and I used to make dios. our first two issues were on Checkpoint Alpha, but unfortunately it's down and I'm not sure where my files are. also, issue zero has 'PHOTOBUCKET' logo on them. issue four and five should be okay though. if you like dio stories it's worth checking out

Eh I kinda don't want them messing around with any existing characters at this point, unless it's like with X-Men Legends, with the same old writers and set in the older eras.

Thanks bro. Sorry the first 4 issues are unavailable. Perhaps one day I'll find them, and finish the story. I had volumes of stories and never got to finish them because my bro didn't want to do them anymore and I kind of just floated the ideas around and kept the story in my head.
