Personally, I prefer Nerf more when they do silly gimmicks like the Motoblitz and Doublepunch. Just fun toyetic experiences that also have a decent amount of performance. Anything over 100ish+ FPS is no longer about play and "fun" but moreso about being competitive, and I'm not really into foam flinging for that experience.
I know I've said it before, but I honestly believe that if Nerf used it's Ultra line as a high performance half dart blaster series instead of it's proprietary crap dart line, it probably would've been the best series they ever put out. It has some gorgeous shells and fun gimmick blasters, the only thing holding it back is that awful ammo type. If they combined the silly fun aesthetic of classic nerf with the "competitive" performance focus of the half-dart market, they could've made some awesome things.
....instead they just re-released a basically modded, overpriced Stryfe and called it a day.
