Lc was the best line when it came out. I was even the first person too post LC figures online. It was a long time ago, and I didn't buy zedd. They had been dropped at my Walmart like 2 months early. I even posted the yellow ranger twitter picture.

Damn I loved this line, and its a shame too see it die. I have every figure I wanted.

My only hope is for them to drop a random team pack during the hiatus. Top pics are mystic force and samurai since those are obscure suits.

If they were only concerned about money, they could atleast drop in space/SPD pinless pack.

Because part of the original rumor of the Lighting line being paused was that in the interim between the end of Cosmic Fury/beginning of Entwhistle show, Hasbro was preparing some deluxe rereleases of the most popular items + minor retools in order to keep interest from collectors alive.

To much QC issues and everyone already have the originals. The new ones offer very little in terms of the price. I hope Hasbro perfects the QC in Lightning collection 2.0. I bought the entire x men 275 team, and the only issue I had was forges boots slipping down. I can push them back up. That's like a 1/7 QC miss rate, which is still bad but way better than LC

He'd make a cool display piece with the united alliance of evil, but he ends up being ultimately inconsequential in the season he's supposed to the be main villain of. That said, I'd probably go in on it, especially for Darkonda and his rocket.

The thing is the animations don't even get him the views he wants anymore which is why he complains and patreon begs all the time. It was impressive back in like 2012 but it's a gimmick and his channel suffers because of it as people only care about new thing within the first week or two it's out. FedEx finally found my Master Morpher and delivered it. It's nice and all but compared to my Legacy Morphers it just feels underwhelming. I dunno. It is nice to FINALLY have an official one and it's nice that it was JDFs final time voicing the character, even if the voice lines are pretty trash and he sounds a little drunk for some of them. But yeah, I'm absolutely glad I skipped Hasbro's regular morpher, it's just not as good as the LEgacy ones. Plus the Legacy ones are actual props now.

I’ve got them. I tend to think the pinless men feel a little cheap, and that’s the case here. But beyond the drop down hips being slightly loose on both men, all three rangers in the newest wave are solid imo. I had no issues.

First release of Goldar had the opened wings, it was just a Gamestop exclusive. Second one was meant to represent his later appearances with the closed wings, but it was pretty clearly just them reusing their expensive unique mold for him. Same with Zedd getting released twice.

Also Rita only had two releases, one in the 2-pack with Zedd and the most recent one. And you didn’t mention Scorpina.

We also had Red Psycho in a 2-pack, Blue Psycho via GameStop, the psycho 5-pack, and silver in a 2-pack. Astronema was in a 2-pck with Andros, then another one with Ecliptor, who also got one more release as Super Ecliptor.

I don’t think any villains got three releases unless you count the putties via Putty with Green, the putty 2-pack, and the mainline Z putty.

This was always the plan back to 2019 then covid happened. Which led to more delays which resulted with Cosmic Fury. Remember all those rumors about cutting ties with Toei. So a random question. Taking price out of the equation is Lightning collection or Super 7 Ultimates better for MMPR? Scale doesn't bother me too much as long as they look good. I have seen some videos on the Ultimates and I can't decide which I prefer. With Bulk and Skull coming out I am debating getting into that line. Face printing looks like it is pretty much solved for them, and I would have the rangers with their helmets on. At this point Rita is sold out for Lightning collection and the ultimates one actually looks good.

The S7 rita is pretty good. Face is definitely worse than the deluxe LC one, but its not bad looking, and aside from the face its a clear upgrade over the LC. The ranger's heads however are really bad, so I'm skeptical bulk and skull will be any good. But they very well may be the only figures we'll ever get of them. I personally plan on not buying any more of the rangers and plan on getting the mezco ones instead to use with the S7 stuff, the green ranger is great so hopefully the other ones are too.

They actually completed quite a few teams. The only team I wish they had gotten to was Mystic force, but:

Granted, I don't have the level of autism that makes me rage because a belt buckle is the wrong color or because a little red line isn't painted. As teams, they all look great together.

If I could’ve gotten Ninja Storm, and the remaining reds needed for Forever Red, I’d be satisfied. Wouldn’t need the line to come back almost at all, I’d like stuff like completed Lightspeed, Turbo, and Tome Force, but I’d be able to live with it.

As is, I’m happy with the stuff they did manage to get us. I don’t think any other line has managed to do every Space, Psycho, and Galaxy ranger, so that’s pretty cool to me. Alien rangers and Phantom and Blue Senturion are also highlights.

There are numerous other lines of MMPR figures but I am not sure what other series would scale well to these villains. PR Lightning is technically 1/12 scale, meaning they are around 6 inches tall (humans are considered 6ft tall for scale purposes, so 6/12= 0.5 ft, aka 6 inches).

Like I said, this line is generally 1/12. Hasbro fudges it a bit, so some lines like Figuarts are true 1/12 while Hasbro lines are slightly larger. That’s mostly true for PR but it’s a little better than, say, Marvel Legends.

The villains in the line are slightly larger, with some being about 7 or 8 inches, and Monsters of the Week usually being about 8-10. Based on the scale of the show, characters like Goldar and Zedd are larger than the rangers, so they’re still the same 1/12 scale, despite not being 6 inches tall. Monsters of the Week are a point of contention, since they seemingly intentionally messed up the scale and they’re a little too large, compared to the proportions of the show. To some people,
its not a big deal though.

Bottom line, you might be able to fudge the rangers from another line with the monsters from Lightning Collection. Stuff like Mezco or Figuarts are probably your best bet. Super 7 is a little too large.

I'm probably late to the party but I finally unboxed my Ultimates Dragonzord today. From the front, it's a beauty. It really does evoke the show feel for me, which no other Dragonzord toy to date has. It's largely helped by the thicc ass legs, which finally give it the thunderthighs proportions of the suit. Most Dragonzord toys make them too slim and the feet too small. While the face isn't particularly accurate, it feels "right" to me somehow in a way that the others don't. I'm overall quite pleased with the looks from the front.

From the side though, it seems way too skinny. I feel like it should have more mass, especially for how wide it is.

I also wish they'd put the forearms on balljoints, since they have no outward movement, and are therefore inaccurate to the suit. I'm ok with limited poseability for zords, but I think it should at least be able to do the iconic poses, and with the way they did the arms you miss out on some of those. The entire chest area feels too flat. His neck should be longer and slimmer. I forgot to say this in the previous "positives" post, but the waist balljoint is great, and lets it do those lumbering leaning poses.

It's a good try, probably my favorite Dragonzord so far. I just wish it was a teensy bit better so it could actually maybe live up to the "Ultimates" title.

Actually, I think a big part of why it looks so good to me is the face. The nose is properly round and blunt. The teeth have blunt tips. The inside of the mouth is painted black, and there is a line of black paint separating each tooth from the silver of the jaw.

These are crucial design elements to this suit that even Bandai fucked up on the Soul of Chogokin. I hated the face on that thing, so it's nice to see someone pay attention to those little details. Not saying it's perfect, not by a long shot, but they nailed the important parts for me and made it a lovable face. Super7 and show look like they're having a friendly chuckle, the SOC looks like it wants to rob my grandma and eat my feet for breakfast.

The fin is pretty much exactly this size and ends at the right place in the middle of his second "neck segment." I'm looking at the figure right now and it's pretty darn close to your suit photo in terms of scale and placement.

The skinniness and caved in chest are a big problem though, and not something you can really fix.

1) Yes, because clearly that stopped them from creating figures for Blue Senturion, Phantom Ranger, the villains, the monsters, etc.
2) Even people who hate Mystic Force adore the Koragg/Wolzard suit. Plus it allows them an easy rerelease with the red version later.

Most of the newly tooled figures are MMPR, and even then the monsters are deluxes with inflated price points, and several of the others were exclusives or two-packs. Phantom was labelled as In Space to increase his viability, and Blue Senturion was an overpriced deluxe. Of the 58 normal wave figures released, only 7 were completely new tools. It took three years to get an Ecliptor (as an Amazon exclusive two-pack with an Astronema variant), who is an extremely popular villain from an extremely popular season with lots of reuse potential. Seeing as Hasbro is yet to even do a Quantum Ranger, who is a very popular sixth from a very popular season which can be made with just a few new parts, I'd say Koragg/Wolf Warrior wasn't even close to getting made.

Amazing how some of the more popular characters were just ignored. Like completing the Forever Red and Once a Ranger teams should have been a priority. Getting out Ryan/Titanium should have been a priority. Getting out Eric/Quantum and Jen/Pink should have been a priority. The SMF team could have been a cheaper but decent option to something like SH Figuarts.

My fear is that when the line starts back up its gonna be a year or two of MMPR and the reboot.

I think we both know your fear is more likely to happen than not. Hasbro's already shown that their priorities lie more with banking on obvious nostalgia and whatever might be relevant to the social media crowd, with little thought towards what long term fans actually want. And with no immediate time table for this hiatus, you better believe it's only going to get worse once it returns.

Patient collectors getting rewarded this holiday. Also picked up the Leo Donnie Raph Tommy 2 packs at Burlingtons and the Gamestop gender bender Red Yellow 2 pack at another ROSS. Aside from the annoying inaccurate hands Pudgy Pig is great. Decent range of movement for what is basically a brick with limbs, and you can even stuff small enough figures into his mouth.

Me too. Didn't preorder any of them since I have the first versions. If they pop up at ROSS or Ollie, I'll pick them up but I'm not clamouring for them. Same with the alien rangers. Not giving them unhelmeted heads really fucked up any interest they had with fans. They could have been just generic AI rendered faces with the alien makeup and it would have been fine if they didn't want to pay for the likeness.

They wouldn't have had to pay for the likenesses, it was baked into the contracts. I agree though, Alien Rangers would have been an instant buy for me if they had come with the heads, but on principle I won't buy them until they are marked down considerably.
