Please excuse the poor quality of the pic, but I think that these are worth the money considering that most 1:400 scale models with no interior cost the same price (US $50 for those wondering). (The models that Oxford makes are 1:72 for all aircraft).

For those who take their cars out of packaging, how do you display them? Do you have dioramas, simple shelves, etc? I keep mine piled in a bin and I would like to have a neat display but the problem is I'm nearing 1000. Man, since one anon posted about the Thunder Cycles line on another thread I got hold of these two. I didn't even know this particular model had more than the green and white version.
The red one rocks hard and the skeleton inside also glows in the dark, though it's barely noticeable.

Now I'm curious if there are other colors besides red and green.

Was at Walmart and found they restocked the dump bins. Looked like they went through em, but found this at the end. The time they stock is all over the place. Got it in the rush hour of all times. If you're out there hunting for them, try early mornings, or try late night to see what the next day's stock is set to be put out overnight.

Another anon asked about a Chevy SSR casting in the last thread. Johnny Lightning has one now. You can buy it on Autoworld's website. It's not the greatest casting, as proportions look off, but it's not too bad for $9.

I got a few of those in today. You can't really find a better bargain for your money than Mini GT in the details department.

I opened a couple today and as I had thought, they even put plastic shells inside the boxes that come with the cars for safe keeping. If only other brands would do that.. The art today is far superior to yesteryear. Even brings higher value in some instances. Though it would be nice if the size of packaging could be minimized. Such as Hot Wheels going to short cards exclusively or at least bringing the premium car culture for example back to normal sized cards vs wide cards. A lot of the higher end stuff has too much plastic and cardboard that isn't necessary.

Yes, I had just discovered mini gt and this was my first purchase for obvious reasons. Really impressed with the quality and the fact they used rubber mirrors for playability. Got two. One to keep packaged and one for my son to play with. I might have to get a white NA miata from them too that is similar to the miata I used to autocross back in the day.

Yeah, mini gt is cool, too bad their QC is Kind of a lottery. My model got this gap between the door and side window >>10676318 and it's seems I'm not the only as all review video have that gap if you pause the video and zoom in even if the reviewer seems to not notice it. You mean like character cars? I'd actually be interested in that. Cars designed to look like Transformer's robot mode has a weird kind of novelty factor to it. Cars just wearing Transformers alt mode decos is kinda boring because it happens all the time unintentionally.

Personally, what I want is a Transformers Hot Wheels line, where they give robot modes to popular castings like Twin Mill or Deora or whatever.

Looking for picrel but it came out like 4 months ago and I haven't found it in any of my local stores. Should I resign myself to paying like 4 bucks plus $5 shipping? (What's the deal with these shipping prices anyways?)
Are there any resell alternatives with better pricing or hell at least batch orders.

I have zero experience collecting HW but I'm kinda getting into it after finding the Mod Speeder randomly at Walgreens. Any more cyberpunk-y recommendations?

It's going to be released again for 2024. It's not that rare or sought after, so you'll be better waitng and see if you find it for a good price.
Another nice cyberpunk models that come in mind are davancenator, last year batmobile (modified charger), punk rod come in mind

I don't see the appeal of $50 1/64 models. You aren't getting much more detail for the extra money. A 1/18 Maisto is nicer and costs $17 at Costco. It's also hard to buy a "hype beast" brand without feeling like you're being scammed.

People in this hobby collect enormous amounts of cars they even don't give a shit about. They end up buying the same thing in 15 different colors. Imagine bringing a girl back to your place and instead of displaying 3 or 4 nice die-cast models you have 10,000 poor quality hot wheels covering your walls. Some of them in disgusting yellow packaging "too valuable to take out". The level of cringe would be off the charts. Then she asks you what you do for fun and you explain "peg hunting" and how you dig in toy bins to find the "R A R E" worth $5.

Just buy a 1:18 model from Aliexpress or Temu, they're all made in the same Chinese factories and look nicer.

I'm definitely prowling more oddball locations that are likely to get old overstock like grocery stores. My local Kroger's ends up getting a giant bin full of random HW like once a month so I'm still holding out hope.
