My son turns 7 in January and has shown interest in marble run videos on YouTube. Was thinking of getting him this for Christmas. Is it a shit toy or worth my money?

Does he enjoy the videos passively? I bought my nephew a motorized train set because he was watching track build videos, but he can't arsed to lay out the tracks himself.

I guess you won't know until you put the toy in front of him.

We already have pic related but it requires too much pressure to put the pieces in for him sometimes. Just wanted to know if anybody here has any experience with this toy and is it decent?

You could buy him a christmas calender? See if he is interested in it? I saw it today in a toy shop, it seems solid. They feel a little bit tight when connecting. They had a 3 level build and it seems more to be wide than high builds.

more of a papercraft route, but Paperrollercoasters.com has pdf's you can print in cardstock and with track, loops, funnels etc. It does cost money, but you can print as much track as you need. Would help. 7 year old work on motor skills too. If it's a fad interest you aren't out much money and you can throw away track without feeling guilty. 7 year old may need help too, which makes it a good parent kid bonding activity.
