yep! only gripe is that she doesn't have alternate "normal" arms, just these chonkers, and the friction in her shoulder joints isn't enough to keep her arms in a punching pose over an extended period of time

you could try hardening them with superglue or nail polish. It really works, but it might leave a visible residue if the joint is very open. I use a toothpick to drop a little dab of superglue inside the joint and move it back and forth for a minute or so.

this is a dumb gripe. unless their design specifically calls for huge hands, 1/12 hands are too small and fiddly for articulated fingers. It HAS been done, and it was not good. Either turns out chunky and stupid, or incredibly fragile.

Yeah I know the scale is just too small and it can't be helped. I just don't like swapping hands which are often a pretty limited selection.

Just like the argument with bipedal robots, a handjob machine with actual hands makes no sense. Hands are so inefficient. The future is probably something like a fleshlight with smart nano-sand inside that can flow into different shapes or some shit.

Blodia hands are good for its time, but Astrobots win overall.

As someone mentioned, Toynotch Astrobots have individually articulated fingers with several joints each that are reliable for holding, gripping and grasping.
So they get my vote for best articulated figure hands.

I kid you not because of these I kind of wish all my figures had articulated fingers, when it's size appropriate. Whenever I see big figures with big hands, I'd always rather they have articulated fingers. Of course, if they're not done well and have that extra lateral movement at the base of the fingers, the motion isn't exactly ideal. I remember when DST solicited their Iron Giant I was so excited that a relatively cheap figure was going to have articulated fingers. Of course, it didn't end up having them, and instead opted for alternate hands. Of course, if it isn't done well, both in articulation and tightness of the joints, it's better if they don't bother.

The omission of a proper wrist joint is surprising, though. We shit on many figures for lacking vertical movement there, then these dudes have excellent full finger articulation and they still drop the ball at the wrist.
The individual finger movement helps to do without the wrist joint (much of the irl human "vertical" movement is done with the finger grip rather than rotating your whole hand at the wrist, anyways), but still it's kinda annoying that it lacks that direction.

That looks like you could press the joint back together and then pop the hand back on but hard to say without actually having it in hand
Give it a try anyway, soak it in some warm water and try pushing the little cap that's off back onto the joint and then just pop the hand back on

Getting off topic but Toy Notch is a manufacturer, not the designers. Astrobots are made by Toy Forge, while those transforming toys are made by an entirely different designer.

In-universe Apollo is an older model of robot, and they all serve different purposes. Apollo and Argus are meant to fight, Athenia is meant to be a friendly face for humans, Vulkan a laborer, Artimis a hunter, etc.

Anyways here's the upcoming Hyperion. 4 sets of fully articulated fingers.
