Lego have this bizarre idea in their heads that a simple Castle theme only has nostalgia appeal for adults and that kids only want themes that have an accompanying TV show. Thing is, their subsidiary Merlin who runs the parks knows that kids like castles and knights enough to have Castle lands and hotels in all/most of the Legoland parks.

While they could easily make a Castle TV show, they won't and therefore we're stuck with one $100-$400 castle set a year.

Been mulling over what could make video games and manga/anime different in the eyes of TLG. I have to wonder if one issue is that manga/anime in the mainstream west is popularized by their characters and their abilities. Meanwhile, level design and game mechanics makes locales and other game assets more prominent in the mainstream consciousness. So it's easier to conceptualize and put faith in a video game theme that can have set pieces, vehicles, items, etc that normies will recognize.

I guess one could make a similar argument for western super heroes, but their shit gets shilled her more often and directly. That and the western super hero toy market has long submitted itself into selling nonsensical extraneous bs for a buck. So the TLG can pull anything out of its ass to fill out a theme with options.

not mine, but I just built this Baba Yaga house moc from rebrickable, using parts from the tree house set. That set has a lot of rebrickable builds, I've made a lot of them before, but this one is definitely my favorite. I made some minor modifications to it as well.

Problem is, Castle stands contrary to modern Lego Company goals. They want to create gender neutral toys, Dreamzz it's the recent example. This is why they turned knights and soldiers into women in Icons sets.

Castle is a pure masculine theme, for boys. War, brutal hand-to-hand combat, weapons, sieges, patriotism, peasantry, dishwasher women - all of this is against Lego agenda. No way they will make an entire line. They will just milk nostalgiafags with one, maybe two expensive sets per year, with price so high, no kid will ever get it, only us, sweaty, unshaved and unwashed paypiggy AFOLs will buy them.

I'm having trouble trying to find what I remember being this black T Rex lego toy from the late 90's. It looked vaguely like the silhouette here in my pic. But something weird that I remember about it was that when constructing its head, I swear the instruction booklet wanted you to actually bend the lego piece in order to get it to snap across multiple planes. Does this ring a bell for anyone? It may have been some kind of knockoff lego brand.

It looks to be a lot larger than what I remember, and yeah it's missing the strange head design. Another thing, I feel like what I'm looking for was meant to be even more robotic/futuristic. If I had to guess an exact year, I'd say I got it in 1998.

To play devil's advocate, Lego is far less volatile and risky than the stock market, and often times can outperform it in return. The cons are it takes far more effort to sell and store Lego in large quantities like you said, but if you have the space and already enjoy it as a hobby it makes sense to pick up a few extra sets now and then and hold onto them for a few years, after all selling them helps me fund more purchases of newer Lego sets each year and offsets the cost of an expensive hobby, and even if I don't sell them I can always just take the sets, part them out into my personal collection and use the pieces for my own purposes.

It's a win-win for me, sometimes I make a decent amount, sometimes I don't but I'm not a major hoarder of sets, I just pick up those I can when they're discounted at a great deal and hold onto them for a few years, sell and use the profits to fund more Lego purchases.

instructions where only 2.50, and I already had the set just laying around in bags. it's not perfect by any means but the designer was working within the limitations of only using parts from one pre-existing set so I think it's fine for what it is. You can blame the nu-broom on me, it was just the first one I found when digging through my minifig accessories drawer.

It does but without the other clip it is more susceptible to breaking off the remaining clip should it get knocked the wrong way. I think I will just hot glue it (real hot glue) to a bar piece. That way I can pick it off if a better method comes to mind.

Stole these from BAM at my local lego store, was able to give helmets and weapons to some of them by taking the gear from the dark falcons from the creator castle (gave them the black helmets from Halloween fun pack and the black swords from BAM)

I've been stealing from BAM every other weekend, its dead easy there's always a dozen of people around the bins you can just take whatever you want if you're discreet enough.

What would be the best way to give helmets and weapons to all my lion knights?
Also how do fellow black falconchads grow their army?
all I have are the couple of figures from the 3in1 castle + 2 of the archer cmf

I will keep that in mind, working retail in general is a PITA but I can imagine it gets worse if the product you're selling attracts certain undesirable demographics (e.g. Foot locker - niggers, LEGO store - 30yo consoomers)

But yeah I enjoy space a lot, love blacktron and space police (especially SP3) and recently rekindled my love for the castle genre, although it's insane how expensive vintage castle is, even the stuff from the 2000s. Space is much more affordable in my experience.

I have a huge collection of mainly old MCX halo minifigures that are currently displayed in a moc that has both Assault on high ground as well as Countdown and I see what you mean.

However LEGO quality is superior and the minifigures are perfect, I have an unofficial master chief LEGO figure and if There was a wide range of Halo armors and helmets (and I had the money) I would collect those.
