>>10688095>Used to live in Aus>Moved to UK>Comic book stores are 90% shitBuying comics is ok, most are retail pricing, Ameritrash figures (Marvel Legends, NECA, McF) are ALWAYS marked up by 25%+ over retail. Sometimes more.
Figma, SHF and Hot Toys are treated as ULTRA MEGA PREMIUM and can be marked up 50%+ over retail and there's rarely more than 5-10 figures in the store, if any at all.
Sentinel and 1000Toys are never found in-store.
There were only two exceptions to this that I could find in Australia, so shout-out to Anime at Abbotsford and Sugo Toys (who even had DamToys and other 1/12 clothed figures at decent prices).
But I've found nothing in the UK except sellers on Ebay. I have imported nearly 80% of my collection from sellers in Japan.
I can only dream of walking into a store and finding the figures I want on the shelf for a reasonable price. I have fantasised about going to Singapore, Hong Kong or Japan and buying figures off the shelf at retail prices.
