Just took a look on the German Amazon and while the remaster versions of MMPR are relatively expensive, I'd have spent the money if they weren't in those cheap cardboard boxes including the figures being wrapped in paper. Fuck that shit, guess I will end up not having bought a single figure from this line despite being on the fence ever since the line was announced. Biggest disappointment I ever had when it comes to figures

Remastered Tommy came in. Pretty nice but his neck doesn't really move. It seems like there should be movement at the bottom of the neck and at the peg for the head. Why go through the trouble of making the neck a separate piece of it doesn't have any range of movement?

I feel like they'd hold off until the following year to re-release Remastered MMPR figures to let The Movie figures have some breathing room, but otherwise it feels fairly accurate.

Tried dremelling some this morning and it worked great. Only downside is if I want to swap heads the peg for the head that goes into the neck comes off with the head. I didn't bother trying but I'd wager heating it up and pulling it gently with some pliers should get it out. I'll probably never take the helmet off so no biggy to me, but worth noting. I dremelled some from the bottom of the neck too and it has some movement now whereas it had none before. It's like someone on the design team know how ball joint necks work and then someone else fucked it up.

So I got a bonus recently and purchased a new Soul of Chogokin Megazord off eBay and was curious about advice anyone can give me some advice on keeping the reflective surfaces clean? I have seen YouTubers who regularly handle their figures and on some it's like the oils from these guys hands turned the chrome chestplate and power sword from a mirror to a cum frosted window. Is there a good method to clean these, some chemical I can use, or should I go full on pic related?

I dreamed as a kid was to have a full Megazord so I want to make this dude a centerpiece to my collection.

Also any dangers I should look out for? I am buying this new but I have heard some horror stories out of the box and the seller is ok with returns.

try to wear cloth gloves when touching the chrome, clean it with chrome polish made for cars and a microfiber cloth if you do notice smudges or fingerprints. And the main danger with the SOC is that the dragonzord's shoulder joints will break 100% of the time. I don't know if this is something they're addressing in the reissue but its a design flaw, you can at least buy replacement pieces people have 3d printed though.

Well the good news is I am an idiot who will be buying a second one at some point as I would still like to display the Dinozords at the same time. So that rerelease two pack seems like things should balance out as long as the reissues don't do any major physical changes like changing paint or something. I am also not one for messing with with perfection. Once I get the dude in the right pose, I will never be touching him other than to move him or clean him. But to get to that point, I am going to manhandle him like boxer.

Out of curiosity are they reissuing Titanus and does SOC have plans for a Tigerzord?

Easily the biggest missed opportunity, but I bet the paint deco never costed out. Did you see how little the monsters got in terms of paint? There's no way to do the camo cheap. It has to be done right and thats more paint apps than like all the monsters combined lol

Exactly. Both sides NEED a ton of paint. The bone colored side needs a lot of washes/dry brushing like shown. Then the camo side is just super expensive and a ton of manual labor to do on all those individual parts. Looking at how little paint the last few monsters got, there's no way they'd ever be able to do Rito with how little they were willing to spend on production.

The bright white plastic Bandai used didn't do it any favors. I think you could get away with how Super7 did their ReAction figure, and leave it up to the consumers to give it a wash if they see fit. Though that's probably still way more paint than Hasbro would be willing to do, even at a deluxe price point.

Rito and Red Ranger Rocky was a missed opportunity. We got Aisha with Scorpina and solo Adam. Rocky with the fixed helmet would have been a cheap but appealing figure to pack in with Rito. Now with the Remastered figures the window for it has passed.

That's what my hope when Super 7 made their initial announcement. For a time, I was really into buying all the different rangers.

I'd really like to have a comprehensive list of all the different ones that were made in this style. I know it predates Zyuranger/MMPR and that there were some koreans ones of Wild Force.

Supposedly Hasbro told the crew they had to make Rita's generals Snizard and Minotaur to help advertise their Lightning Collection figures. Even though the figures are of their original forms and they're robots that look completely different in Once & Always. And they didn't make figures of Robo-Snizard and Robo-Minotaur to actually synergize with Once & Always. And Rita making Snizard and Minotaur her generals makes no fucking sense whatsoever in-universe.

This is why I've never understood why on earth Hasbro would ever want to part with Toei. Isn't the entire allure of Power Rangers from a business perspective the fact that half of the show - the harder, more expensive half - has already been filmed for you? Even when they need to film new fight scenes or scenes with the villains, it's still with pre-made suits that they didn't spend money on themselves. Why would Hasbro want to stop using Sentai footage and then pay to make an entire "Sentai" series on their own?

You have to consider the fact that the monsters suits have been made in Japan this entire time. Even the US exclusive monsters designed by the US team are built in Japan and shipped to LA/New Zealand. Plus when they filmed In Space they were just using whatever monster suits they still had in the Saban warehouse. Neither Toei nor Saban at the time had any method for preserving suits although Saban was a little better about it since they kept old suits on pallets or boxes. Toei around that time just had then tossed on the floor of a shed. So Rito falling apart was just bad timing and they weren't going to commission a whole new suit for a quick cameo in that season.

It's mostly about control. They may be saving money with sentai footage, but matching locations and SFX, renting costumes and the like still adds up. So they figure with as much money as they're already putting into it, they may as go all the way without Toei's decisions dictating their own.

Don't let that fool you though. Hasbro's not going to shell out more money to make up the difference, just cut down on what Toei would've covered. So if and when the reboot happens, expect less suits, monsters and zords.

I got my Soul of Chogokin Megazord in the mail today and I am all in. It's everything I wanted as a kid in modern form. I was on the fence of making a full display, but now I will need multiples of Megazord and I still need a Dragonzord. I saw there is a rerelease of the two as a pair and there are some posts on eBay for it. The pair rereleases next month and I missed the boat on pre-ordering. Is it better to wait for when they actually release in hopes of lower price or is it just the same if I prebuy on eBay now?

Or, you could just see if you can buy it outright when it releases, sometimes there's still stock available even if you didn't preorder it

I haven't seen anyone talk about these guys. I just got them from FedEx, and while they look cool, I still managed to get three of them with the usual Hasbro shit QC. Omega black has a loose as fuck left ankle that needed 4 coats of nail polish to be able to get him to even stand. The torso is loose and wobbly on Red, and Yellow has a splotch of yellow paint on her back (which thankfully isn't visible).

Still, they look cool.

Sure, I took a dab on the nail polish and applied it to the back of the ankle. I'd move the foot up and down for a while to work the polish in, and let it dry for Bout 30 minutes before I'd do the process all over again. I did this 4-5 times (don't remember), and this morning when I checked on the ankle, it wasn't wobbly anymore. Not sure if this is a long term solution, but at least he doesn't fall over from a stiff breeze anymore.

Not overly tight. My red has a bit of jiggle, but nothing that affects posing. I've seen complaints about loose joints but I haven't had an issue with any. The upper torso joint on black has some wobble but, again, there's no affect on posing
