>>10702456>How do you value the toys you buy? How much do I like series/character, and how much am I willing to feel like I'm not getting my money's worth to have that character. I'm a huge Kingdom Hearts fag, so I buy a lot of Bring Arts, that I don't feel are worth the money, but I really want the characters, so I settle. For a series that I like less, Demon Slayer, I buy Buzzmod, which I would say really pushes the limit of how much I'm willing to spend for figs of characters I want. The figma may be cheaper but they look worse, so that's that.
As a general guideline, I think a 7k yen SHF at 15cm should articulate incredibly well, include 3 alt faceplates at a minimum, as many hands as I need to make iconic/general poses, and probably 2-3 cool accessories. Different lines have different strengths/weaknesses so expectations are a bit different. For example, figma I expect good sculpts with good paintwork, but not articulating as well as SHF or include the same amount of accessories at the same price point.
>Do you have a guideline for what toys you do and don’t buy, or is it always what looks the coolest? Mostly what looks coolest, and what I'm willing to collect a whole group of. I tend towards collection autism, so in my above Demon Slayer example, I'm buying all the Hashira. I like enough to have most of them, so I'm willing to buy the rest to have the whole group. I don't buy anything I think is an absolutely terrible value, like priced 30 bucks higher than it should be. I'm willing to concede some price to general inflation.
