Counterpoint - no actually it couldn't.
Some alt modes create limitations on robot modes. Look at SS 106 Primal for one. His ape mode has some limitations and inaccuracies so that the robot mode can flourish.
I'm trying my hardest lately to not be a Hasbro shill, but they have been kind of crushing it lately when you look at the grand scheme of things. I'd much rather have a fully solid robot mode than some conceptual alt modes that I'll turn him into like once every 6 months but not display him in.
Also we don't need 10 threads bitching about Transformer designs.
