I'd be interested in seeing what Bandai can do with Figuarts DS figures. Neither Figma nor Buzzmod made a competent Inosuke. Figma probably won't do any of the Hashira beyond Flame fag, Shinobu, and Giyu. Buzzmod would rather release 2.0s of figures than finish the rest off, but they probably have the more extensive catalogue of figures, and probably will continue to even regardless of how deep a Figuarts line would be.
Then again, the Wanpiss and Bleach lines have looked pretty not great thus far, and the DB line has just about as many misses as it does hits these days. Just about the only figures that Figuarts blew the competition away was the CSM figures. And that's just based on how the figures look and hearsay, as I don't actually own them..

For lines where they feel they can get away with it, they seem to delay making girls as long as possible. Announcing Eustass Kid in OP before Nami is mind-boggling and no Rukia in Bleach is also pretty wild
And for Naruto they didn't even make Kid Sakura to complete the main character trio from the entire first half of the series let alone or females like Hinata and Tsunade
With CSM, I feel they won't be able to avoid making, at least, Makima since she was consistently popular in polls and a big role in the series. But they'll probably try to avoid or delay anyone else

I was browsing amiami and stumbled upon some popup of anya and it made me realize how bad the paint job of anyas shf is. Honestly if it wasn't for all the funny faces it wouldn't be worth it at all. The figure is barely an action figure as it is but seeing how lame the colors are is really depressing. What is it with shf and colors anyway? Why do they looks so fucking soulless? So I don't wanna add to the doomposting but the first video reviews of Sagiri have been coming up and I dunno man. In two reviews she had a super floppy neck, the legs are as bad as expected, and the worst point is that her katana isn't sheathable but the handle just pegs in. You can't even replicate ani iaido poses like the scene where she clutch parries Gabimaru when he attempts to kill her. I know it's hard to do it in 1/12 but I expected some nice engineering there since they gave her nicer arms specifically for swordsmanship.

Fight scenes are OK. I don't care much for the lore/plot but the setting is pretty and interesting.
Side characters are pretty milquetoast IMO but they do their job. Not a waste of time, not super memorable either. The main trio of characters are really good though, so even if I'm not that big of a fan I'm particularly into them.

Sometimes it feels like they don't *want* to hit homeruns. Something minor that they easily could have fixed will end up being missing. Guts' wrists will inexplicably be the worst design for him as a character while 90% of other SHF releases in the same or following months have perfectly fine wrist pegs with friction, Griffith will look and articulate great, but then they neglect to give the faces a quick matte coat, while all other figures released in the same month do have it.

Probably should have included regular interchangable limbs so the rubber ones are a fun add on and not a deal breaker. I've gambled on Kaido but I'm not putting down more on G5, I do hope he ends up really good for those of you who did though. Bandai's probably focusing more on Western market sales for new IPs that they acquire but we'll see how that turns out. If QC keeps being hit-or-miss like in certain sub-lines, they're not gonna keep selling very well because Western collectors only put up with issues on their figures if they're cheap. Once they pay above $40 they expect the figure to be perfect and considering a lot of them are dumb and buy from American stores at $100+.... well.....
