New apc for the new thread - Xingbaos's GTK Boxer.

Huge at 1:30 scale and with pretty detailed interior, which is accesible via several hinged portions of the roof. Also there are openable toolboxes on both sides of the hull, and two front pairs of wheels can be turned.

Brick quality is the same as previous Xingbao sets - not great, not terrible. Everything holds together nicely, apart from the gun assembly, which is held in place by just one stud and is pretty easy to knock off.

Overall, pleased by the set once again and already ordered their Fennek from the current Ali sale.

I've always wanted to try one from that set of Bundeswehr vehicles and did get their Leo 2 earlier this year. Great set, lots of details, rolls nicely and all that... it's just too big, for minifigs, for CoD-style figs, for army men. The Boxer would've been my next choice from the line, I appreciate getting a good look at it.

Boxer is definetly too big for lego-style minifigures, but I feel like it will scale fine with mega/cod ones. It's about the size of the COD BTR-82 (27cm vs 31cm in lenght), which got posted in the last thread, and irl Boxer and BTR are roughly the same in terms of dimensions.

I got the red, blue, green and purple classic dragons and a black Chinese dragon recently; color-wise I'd say they fit in well with Lego colors (Spidey in the middle is Lego). Their arm joints are tighter than the originals and their upper jaw doesn't fully close, leaving a tiny gap which is problematic for keeping the included flame piece in their mouth as these neglected to add the pin-hole found there on OG dragons.

Bonus, also got this quartet of Crusaders and their armored horses; will be giving them better lances later but I wanted to showcase how nicely the horse armor fits together, with special cape and waist pieces for the knights to look properly mounted.

So yeah, SPGs. In this case, a Chinese PLZ-05 by DeCool and M109 Paladin by Woma. In the confusion caused by just tossing stuff together so I can move on to another build, I can't say for certain those four figs actually came with the PLZ, but I can't seem to account for them otherwise.

First up, the M109. Nice build, lots of details and opening hatches; the driver station actually has a "fig" of the kind often found in dollar store type sets (seated body with head and headgear). While the rear doors at the back of the SPG do open, there's no interior there to speak of or even room for much. The color scheme is rather odd, can't really place the kind of environment it'd be most suited for. The tracks roll nicely and aside from some minor gripes with the barrel drooping a bit if not aligned just so it's pretty good. I will come back to it after talking about the other guy...

The PLZ-05 is also a nice build, also has lots of details, fewer opening hatches but while the hull hatch is basically a small hole to a cramped void, the two large aft hatches reveal a roomy interior in the turret, though only the forward area has some detailing (shell-loading area behind the gun). I did have a couple issues with some of the parts: a number of the track links were defective, as it turns out they provided just enough spares that I didn't have to dig through my junk drawers for replacements (though this was because I was able to remove one link from each track - the link count per the instructions gives you more slack than you need); the hinge for elevating the barrel was too weak to hold the barrel above its foward rest (swapped it out for a tighter hinge).

Oh yeah it was all prints for the M109, all stickers for the PLZ-0 which came with extra stickers cuz the pieces can be used for four different builds. Despite the issue with the tracks I'm tempted to get another, specifically for the ATGM-spamming faggot build (real name ZBD-04A AT).

I do have one significant gripe with both vehicles: neither have much in the way of elevation, maybe half or less that of the real world models. I also disliked the lack of muzzle brake on the Paladin, jury-rigged one in the center pic and will probably make it permanent with a little adjusting.

Was also going to complain about how the MGs feel more cosmetic than practical but this is probably true to the real thing, don't really want your SPGs to be in a situation where you need those eh. Speaking of MG issues, here's the Sembo Type-85. Its MG is fine really, maybe a little oversized but mine has a damaged turntable cuz a tiny bit broke out of the centre so the MG assembly falls right off if turned a certain way (will get around to replacing it eventually). I wanted to highlight something unusual about this Sembo set: with one exception, they went out of their way to avoid stickers across multiple pieces. The one exception is this battle map that spreads across 2x4 tiles; if anyone can ID what may be a real-world location in that map I'd love to know.

You can see on the fenders how they provided stickers for the individual curved pieces, rather than overlapping ones. The hull interior is cramped and without detail, barely accessible through the one hatch that opens forward, unusual for those. There's a rear hatch that can only be raise partway and only if the turret is turned to one side that grants access to a more roomy area in the back - thinking they might've intended to put an engine build in there and either forgot or dropped it from the final model. Rolling can feel a bit stiff but I didn't see the need to add any extra links.

Got a couple more things to share, sorry for spamming but we didn't even get halfway to cap last time, might as well. These two are both Sembo Leo 2s, the 2A6 and 2A7 respectively. Not much to say about either, other than they're a bit small for my preferences but cool nonetheless.

The Kazi Luhu destroyer I talked about last thread, alongside this odd little submarine produced by whatever company it is that does the CoD knock-offs. Mostly I got it cuz it was cheap and I liked the idea of adding an SSBN to my collection, though the doors to the missile bay are quite finicky.

Tl;dr: AVOID Chang Da Block like the goddamn plague!

First time trying this brand and they failed epicly. All I wanted to do was get my ATGM spammer an APC sibling. Instead I got a laundry list of defects:

-Multiple pieces missing (some may have been selected wrong).
-Multiple pieces still had sprue marks. In general they felt more brittle.
-If you enjoy punishing yourself, then their retarded build design that literally falls apart when you tap it about a tenth into the steps is for you!
-The instructions are tiny.
-It’s all stickers including stickers across multiple pieces.
-Minifig articulation is stiff as hell.

What you’re seeing in pic is a heavily modded version with Sembo and Mega-Bloks since Chang-Abortion design and some of their pieces were just godawful. Turned it into a poor man’s SPAAG instead. To top off this shit sandwich, the price was nowhere near "self-aware reject brand" like it should be. They have no right to price in league with Sembo or Sluban. Fuckers.

The Scorch/Ogre Titan is here! Pros:
-Lego-like brick quality.
-Very stable and poseable - can articulate far and pick up the waifig like a proper Titan should.
-Clear instructions.

Overall solid performance and this will be the backup waifig carrier to the agile Northstar. Will seriously consider getting the Ion now. Do not get a Vanguard MOC besides OG BG. They are of all similar design (the red one, grey one) and trash.

As built there's very little interior space - in the front the engine takes up one side and there's just enough room for the halfling driver. The rear area isn't designed to be usable, the rear doors are more of an aesthetic play feature I guess. Would take a lot of modding to reconfigure the rear interior to house figs.

Ironic how that first dumpster fire came with 3 weapons it can’t really wield properly while these only come with one. Thinking of just cannibalizing the entire thing for parts.

Yes, the test pilot died, but the thing was equipped with jet engines (of which one apparently failed mid air), so there is that.
Guess we wont know if it would have been possible to improve it with more time available.

So compared to those many actual "paper" models, this plane was in an advance stage, and since it looks quite fancy and futuristic, i totally understand the modellers interest into it.

Besides that, Cobi came to be in the same spot where all those Scale Model producers were before them:

So they will absolutely start to do more prototype stuff. There is already an E-100, and there will be more of those tanks, and there will be more of the Jets (flying or paper drawn) too.

It really is just absurd to me that it is still popular with almost all Veterans from either side being dead by now and nobody having an actual "connection" to those machines any longer

I think, thats exactly the reason why - people more and more see WWII as a distant romantisized past, almost a fantasy setting like star wars - and just want to collect all these "fun-looking vehicles from different factions".
WWI was too long ago, and didn't have as much potential "merchandise".
And anything from the cold war era and newer is viewed by the majority of people as too recent, and thus not as interesting, or as too politicaly charged and uncomfortable.

Nah, germans are to boxy for me, especially Tiger - just a big box on tracks and another smaller one on top of it. I would pick Firefly or M4 (A1 in particular) for their proto space-age curves as the most photogenic tank of WWII.

It's mould king, so the pieces are excellent, the windshields are packaged seperately. The showcases may have tiny scratches here and there and out of the three pictured, one's not holding tightly onto the bottom, but it's not the biggest deal to me personally

I was very much into Knex rollercoasters between elementary school and college. I had a large collection of Screamin' Serpents and would hammer out a layout roughly twice a year. I ended up selling my collection to a builder a couple states over that does convention builds. I won't post images of my layouts because it'll instantly doxx me. Whoops.

Yep. I don't have the pieces anymore, so the only images I have to post are from old shows and the main knex coaster forum. It was a lot of fun though. Coaster building still seems pretty popular and it looks like 3d printed trains are the future. I remember epoxying lead shot inside the trains and lubing the wheels every run for the video, kek.

Hello /pbbg/!
I'm going to bring you something somewhat unique today. If you may remember, a while ago I posted some (if not most) of my TENTE collection - a line of space toys made in Spain that once dared to dream to rival what would later become LEGO Space.
Needless to say the company eventually went under, but in an odd twist of fate, has been revived recently by fans of the IP, who bought the old molds, copyrights and whatnot and are now producing new sets again.
This is one of them.

The brick quality is not the best, and the sets are manually assembled into the box, so I had one missing part, but overall, it was a fun experience. This guy, as you can see can switch between robot and fighter configurations. I certainly had fun building it, and am curious to see how far they manage to take it.

A minor request to whoever makes the next thread, could you put the word 'Lego' in the OP please? It's slightly more convenient because I can just search 'Lego' and get /lg/ and /pbbg/ at once rather than having to search separately. The threads used to say 'building block brands except Lego' but the recent ones haven't.
Am I autistic for thinking about this?

I ended up getting the Imperial Flagship off Aliexpress, my experience is consistent with the reviews there. The brick quality is almost modern Lego tier, with a couple of small parts not fitting together well out of the whole thing. The minifig face prints are slightly goofy but not awful. The sails are some kind of polymer fabric and not cloth, but they're still okay. One sail had a torn corner where the hole is, I've messaged the seller asking for a replacement.
I added some figs I already had to it in the photo by the way, it doesn't actually come with that many.
