The remastered figures aren't as much of an upgrade as I'd hoped, but the full morph line up is nice.

The plastic bit that connects the shoulders to the torso is incredibly fragile. I broke mine just transforming it. Luckily I managed to find some guy on eBay who 3d printed replacement parts.

be careful when turning the shoulders for transformation, make sure its exactly on the axis of the hinge. The plastic on it the metal bar is too thin and breaks easily. Search on Google for pictures of the problem.

Checked some pics and now I clearly see what the problem is. Another metal pin being a tad too thick and stressing the plastic. Same problem some of my Super Robot Chogokin have, and also SoC Gunbuster's articulated hands. Damn, that sucks because even if you're careful it just can crack by itself due to the pin always stressing the plastic just by being there.

Yeah it's really a shitty design choice. I haven't swapped out the replacement parts I got from eBay yet as I was able to get mine to at least sit in place in Dragon mode. I honestly don't really plan on transforming them again, I was already wary of the Megazord when I got it.

Here's the eBay listing for replacement parts if anyone wants to bookmark it for later. I got mine about a year ago, looks like he keeps a constant stock up, which is good. A little pricey, but $13 is better than having to replace the whole fucking Dragonzord.

Just got home and checked. There's cracks as I suspected, but only one on each plastic ring so the shoulders still stay in place and can be moved. This frees the pressure, so if the plastic withstands the (pretty substantial) flex, it shouldn't break more.
Then again shiny black plastic is shit at that, as anyone who collected the Kyoryuger line should know (fuck those clips, wish someone made replacements of them too).

The Bandai Legacy one. I don't have a pic and I'm too lazy to take one but it's pretty in scale with the SoC stuff.

The Legacy Thunder megazord is scaled a lot larger than both the SoC Dinozords and the Tigerzord. This is because in universe, the Red Dragon Warrior mode is the same size as the Tigerzord in warrior mode. In universe when combined, the Thunder Megazord should be larger but it's the same size as the Tigerzord by itself. The actual reason for this is that they're actually just dudes in rubber suits so they're going to be similar sizes regardless of how it should work in universe. For the toy, obviously the Red Dragon and White Tiger need to be sized the same so everything can combine properly with both.

Not really. The Thunderzord Assault Team parts are quite oversized on the combining Mega Tigerzord toys. If they made the Thunder Megazord smaller, the Mega Tigerzord proportions would be much better. Also Red Dragon isn't the same size as the Tigerzord in the show.

Nah I loved this season. Mostly gave it a shot because it had so many rangers, but overall it was awesome, and Dai Shi/Jarrod is one of the most memorable villains in the franchise.
I wish it got some love, I would’ve liked getting the core five at least as figures.

I want to walk around my house wearing this. Also, that’s how I found it also, on YouTube. I randomly gave it a shot after watching some of the Japanese seasons I had never seen yet and I really liked jungle fury. Jarrod would be a fantastic villain to have in a scene. the issue is the tolerances of the metal rod are too tight; even if you never touch the shoulders on the thing they will crack, you can open a new sealed one and it will have cracked shoulders right out of the package. You can hopefully keep the shoulders from actually falling off by treating it delicately but they basically self-destruct no matter what you do, seems to be a universal issue and hopefully they fixed it on the reissue.

What's even funnier is that Kyuranger was made with Saban's input. So you have a sentai show made with American audiences in mind that people love aesthetically that mostly got skipped over so that they could make basic and generic suits that made for easier toys but didn't even use their bland suits for toys so the Kyuranger suits are just never getting a toyline and the Cosmic Fury suits which were made for toys aren't getting anything either. It's such a fucking mess.

What I don't get is, why would generic suits be better than suits that can be used for 88+ rangers? You know how they love to make toyline exclusive rangers or toyline exclusive armor rangers? With the Kyuranger suits, you can just use the same mold over and over again with new helmets for dozens of rangers that feel like new characters. Collectors would go crazy trying to get every Constellation ranger. You could even do exclusive zords. Korea went crazy with new Zyuohger mechs that were variants of the official ones. You could do the same with Kyuranger. Even use the comics to push some of these new rangers since they love making comic ranger figures like Ranger Slayer. I swear, this is the biggest missed money making opportunity in Power Rangers history.

Bad. If you don't like the bulky LC bodies I'd recommend the Walmart VHS figures, which are the same slimmer style as the basic Beast Morphers/Dino Fury figures. If you care about any other seasons you're gonna be shit out of luck though.

It's a shame. Doing more research the paint apps on the figuarts just blow the other out of the water. I kept seeing scuffs and paint misapplied everywhere on the lightning figures. I originally wanted to have a full set of rangers, Alpha and Zordon with a main cast MM villains, Zed, Rita, Goldar, Baboo , Squat, and Finster and maybe a few putties. But I think with this I might just get the ranger side. Alpha might scale ok due to his small statue. I have also seen some other brands that are even smaller.

Or maybe I just put the villains far away from the main cast and let my brain stop being so unnecessarily obsessives.

The official excuse given was concerns over juggling that many characters in-show, but we all know they were too stingy to make new helmets and accessories for just 7 figures, let alone 12 or even 88+.

They just don't want to splurge on exclusive variants unless it can be connected to MMPR.

Because they thought they'd adapt it at the time. The sale wasn't planned. Toei/Bandai/Plex will play ball with the rights holders to the show to ease the localization(it helps when they pay; IIRC Disney getting the rights lead to extra funding to Sentai for the first few years). In fact it's suspected part of the reason Shinkenger could go as Japanese as it did was because there was no future for Power rangers at the time, so they didn't have to worry about being too Japanese for Disney.

I bought it. I never saw it or the Red IS Ranger/Astronema two-packs at retail and ended up having to settle for a Red Ecliptor which was garbage looking in all red.

BTW anyone want to quick and dirty explain Cosmic Fury and what it's about? I read somewhere Billy is the team mentor/leader ala Tommy in Dino Thunder and that it's a direct sequel to the one-off anniversary special with the original Rangers.

I don't own the reissue but I'm 99% sure it's the exact same thing. There wasn't a "real issue" to begin with, just a part that's a bit more fragile than the rest but still works fine if you handle it with care. Bandai usually doesn't care about real widespread issues so why would they do anything about something like this?

They're at the very least stressed. My mom broken one is anyway. I haven't tried the replacement part I picked up from eBay yet since I've been able to affiliate the shoulder back in place. But I don't have much hope for the printed piece. I wish I could find a 3D file and print my own.

Mine doesn't seem stressed in either version, but I had very good shippers who made sure this package was rock solid. On top of that I love these things with all my heart so I am super careful. I even use gloves to make sure the crome stays pretty.

My original release doesn't look like that. It only has one of those black plastic pieces that connect the shoulders to the torso. Not two that fold over on one another. I should've taken a pic when I just looked but I put back my PR shelf before I thought about it. Both arms are like that too. Also noticed the one that hasn't broken on mine yet is starting to crack in the same fuckin place as the arm that broke. Guess I'm buying a few more of those replacement pieces.

Holy fuck Bandai is bad sometime. It was an easy fix (even if I had to wait a while between steps to let the glue cures) but it I'm so fed up to have to fix such mistakes on expensive toys.

They don't all break but there's literally no way to know if yours are gonna break or not. The best you can do is to disassemble/enlarge the holes of the H part/reassemble as soon as you get it. I used a 2.2mm drill and it's just a bit too large now (so maybe try 2.1mm if you have one) but it's not really an issue since the parts that are attached to the body and to the arms will hold the pin securely.

I didn't bought it but there's absolutely no risk of that happening. Mold degradation is very rare because it only happens to things with very big runs/lots of rereleases. This is only the third run of the figure and since it's an SOC, the runs themselve aren't that big.

/toy/ threads are set to autosage after two weeks. This is because over the past summer we had spammers making the board borderline unusable by necrobumping months old threads that had zero activity other than some schzo replying to himself every three to four days. It got so bad at a point that we had like 70% of the board being composed of these threads. Some were four to five months old. It was brought to the moderation team's attention several times via IRC but they didn't care. Finally, when it got so bad they couldn't ignore it, they set all threads to autosage after two weeks so that kind of thing can never happen again. They'd rather kill an already slow board then just ban the one or two trannies that were spamming in the first place. I have a hunch that it was the mods themselves doing it because they wanted an excuse to implement the autosage policy, it sounds schizo I know, but it's been proven that the mods are trying to ruin the website. Also, once again, they fail to do a decent Tank mode. Not a fan of the canon being hold by the hands.

also, while I don't mind the pterodactyl being a part-formers (actually really like that part of it become the sword), I think they should have find a way to integrate the canons as some sort of Jet-booster and seeing the overhaul of the design for that figure, I don't think it would have hurt the look of the hip front-skirt if they had designed it to look more like pterodactyl feet. Could have made it look even cooler.

Anyway, that was my bunch of nitpicks for an overall great looking figure. Doesn't seem too fragile either, though I dread the paint-ship a little.

Kinda impressed by the overall hand articulation, honestly. I don't think there is any other transformable (or even non transformable one) figure able to strike this pose without interchangeable hand. It has basically removed the need for additional hands and I like it.

My wallet less so...
