>>10772042Not him but I doubt Todd likes what he is forced to put out as far as action figures now. He kowtowed to the pressure on articulation and even that wasn't enough because his core design choices weren't to the taste of the classic costume crowd. I doubt there's much left for him with DC Multiverse. May be why he just hired the Mattel guy to take over the figures.
Probably the statues still interest him but it seems like the market as a whole has really turned its back on "cheap" statues, at least the ones McFarlane Toys puts out. He has tried to get people interested with Diablo, as well as movie maniacs and sports picks coming back, but movie maniacs isnt the edgy brand it once was and doesn't really look great compared to the old stuff either, proving there's no way they could do anything like the old statues anymore.
Now you've got companies charging in the high hundreds to the thousands -- and people pay it -- for high end statues. Todd obviously doesn't want to compete there. He has said when product gets that expensive he gets anxious, probably because its a huge risk. I'd agree with him there, I don't know how those companies calculate the interest and how many to make. Seems like a really unstable and risky endeavor.
