I truly am baffled by this articfigures situation. It looks like plenty of people have gotten toys from the guy over the past half a year and everything seemed legit enough. The screenshots posted by syrett tech come off as him being a vindictive bitch looking to get rid of one of his competitors. Now I haven't followed the 3D dino maker scene for more than the last year or two so if the guy did a bunch of crazy shit before then fine, but it seemed like everything was above board now and the guy was pleading to just let things continue. The only difference between some of these makers and some others is that some do pre orders and others only sell when they have the items completed and ready to go. For the pre order people it's not unusual for things to take many months, and this is not something exclusive to artic figures.
Now I know everyone will say "blah blah whatever faggot, then why did he delete all his socials and website" well that's because the mob was already descending on him. If I had hundreds of people instantly turn on me in a day and demanded all their money back for a pre order and calling me names and harassing me and shit I'd probably just fuck off and go dark too.
Anyway that's my hot take. In general 3D printed highly articulated dinosaurs(or anything) are a bad idea because the joints will wear out incredibly fast so I don't buy any of them anymore. But still, seems like a lot of unnecessary bullshit over nothing, and everyone screaming and yelling about him being a scammer only made it happen because prior to this people were getting toys regularly from him- at least thats what it seems like from Instagram.

How old is Dino Crisis... 1999... the latest title was released in 2003... a mere 20 years ago... Bro, Resident Evil is Capcom's biggest franchise and is practically a billion dollar IP and there's no official modern action figures from any RE game
What chance could Dino Crisis ever have, seeing as how it was always "that RE spin-off with dinosaurs instead of zombies", which only lasted 4 games, 3 of which were drastically different from the first one and also not as well received and the series has been dead since 2003?
Capcom couldn't even revive or remake the first game, they just dumped out that shitty MMO battle royale robot vs dinosaur game that didn't even last a month

She shouldn't be too difficult to patch up if you are willing to paint... All you need is a figure with a leotard and a bobcut, paint the gloves and the legs a grey/purple, make the hair red and give her a shotgun. Could be done with one of the figma styles bodies like Emily, or sousai shoujo, and a few littlearmory pouches/accessories.

I really don't think that PK can outdo JWE3 with the Utah. In general, Frontier's feathered dinosaurs have been really on point. The only one with significant issues is Deinocheirus, which is way too over-feathered for an animal of its size.

I just really don't know what they could do to improve the Frontier Utah. The colors of the feathers are subdued with some beautiful iridescence on its wings like a Microraptor. It and the Yutyrannus are absolutely top tier.

I really don't think it's worth the price. It looks good and its paint apps absolutely clown on the BOTM line as is the norm with PNSO, but it just so small. I really wish they'd at least had it be 1/45 scale.

With that size disparity? Possibly, but considering that Tyrannosaurus only barely overlapped with Alamosaurus and Alamotyrannus (or what ever they are actually going to call it now that they can't call it Alamotyrannus) was probably the dominant Tyrannosaur in the Southern US and Mexico, even a large Rex probably wasn't very good at hunting juvenile and subadult sauropods.

Same. Before the juvenile Tyrannosaur mod, I would always use them as infant Tyrannosaurs when I created the Buck and Doe in my parks. I still use them all the time in my Giga exhibits, because I really enjoyed their relationship in the movie and the prologue.

Edel is a "scam" the same way artic is a scam, which is to say they're not, its just a combination of these makers not being set up to handle mass orders well combined with the fact that people are just impatient babies who want their toys right away and start to throw tantrums if they don't get them immediately. Watch out for Jurassic Justin next, he's barely a college kid and he overpromises and underdelivers, he's constantly jumping from project to project making big promises and announcements without much progress. The last dimetrodon he sent out came with a piece of paper promising that every single person that spent the $100 to buy that "prototype" dimetrodon was going to get one of the "fully realized" all bugs worked out dimetrodons at some point in the future. Which is thousands of dollars of materials not to mention the man hours involved and that's IF he ever even actually puts out a so called perfected version 3 dimetrodon. Syrett tech sounds like a little bitch but at least he has the common sense to stick to largely unpainted upgrade parts with very occasional super limited releases, and only sells shit he has in stock instead of going through pre-orders.

Consider the vast majority of toy buyers and collectors and how absolutely fucking autistic, underdeveloped, immature, and unable to handle basic social situations many of us are. Realize that many of these people making stuff like this are people just like that. They have some talents and the same love of toys, models, etc that we do. But also have many of the same flaws. It's great that there's some well adjusted people, like Photon, that can actually be functioning adults and manage a small home grown business. But for every one person like this there will be many more that are incapable of doing it.

Take out the whole toy creation small business aspect. Just think of some toy autist who sells some old figures on a bst for quick cash. But they used their old photos and their room is such a disgusting mess that they can't find the toys and even if they could they have such crippling anxiety that they can't leave the house without a parent literally forcing them to do something and since the parent has no idea that they sold some shit for $60 bucks that situation will just fester on for weeks or months as they don't send the toys they're supposed to send. Is that a scammer? No, that's a fucking retard who literally can't function. A scammer implies some kind of deliberate malicious intent with a goal of never delivering on the promise of whatever the goal is.

I'm not saying you should be buying their shit, as I keep saying this format of dinosaur toys is literally a terrible idea from its inception. Just look at how people act if you sell something to them and you don't send it out THAT DAY. I just sold some cheap shit free crap from Disney world for $40 on eBay and the same day the auction ended the guy messaged me asking if it shipped yet. He asked every day for 4 days until I responded saying it had shipped. He then messaged me every day for 10 days asking for tracking and accusing me of scamming him and saying it hadn't arrived. It was tracked and delivered 3 days after I sent it and sitting in his mailbox for a week while he continued sending these long messages for a week.

Selling toys of any kind is hell because buyers are largely maladjusted man children, so like I said, I have little sympathy for the dozens if not hundreds of people who no doubt started throwing shit fits at the first sign of trouble, which for many retards is probably like a fucking week after they order these things. It's a bad business model the dudes can't handle, making toys in a way that's not going to last so don't get them anyway, but it's people's own fault for sperging out and scaring them off too.

But I dont necessarily think it's just because you are biased. The Yu has a shitty paint job that doesnt help help bring out the details but also it doesnt have strategic use of fluff/tufts of feathers to make the feathering less uniform. The JWE2 Yu looks far better than the BOTM.

I think the Cyberzoic Yutyrannus paint job brings out the sculpt details much better than the BOTM one. And with the improved neck articulation it'll probably be the definitive version of the figure.

When I was growing up, only Archaeopteryx was accepted as being feathered, everything else was under the "big scaly lizard" group. I don't think feathers are too bad but I'll always prefer scales on a personal level even in cases where it's not accurate. That said, the Cyber Yu does look nicer than the white one. I do agree they could've done more to make the feathers look dynamic like some tufts and maybe a bit more detail or asymmetry in the texture. It just gives the impression they applied the same texture/pattern over the body instead of going through the whole thing slowly and making little different details and areas all over

Yutyrannosaurs wasn't discovered until 2012 when I was a freshman in high school, but it's always been feathered. The paratypes were found in a lake that preserved them beautifully with their feathers. Most large Tyrannosaurs are preserved with scales, so animals like Rex, Tarbo, and Daspleto would have been as feathered as an African Elephant is furry. Yu was much older and nowhere near as heavy, plus they were living in a location similar in climate to New England or Southern Canada while Tyrannosaurus was living in a climate more like modern Florida. So you can really think of them a woolly tyranosauroid.

I think that's more a limitation of the basal nature of the Yu's feathers. Yu wouldn't have had more derived feathers like Dromaeosaurs. Instead, its feathering would have looked much more like that of a Cassowary.

Because I do, and I'd say that most of the articulation are only passable and what little range those had were virtue of the Kaiju having long arms and with outstretched limb structures. Even so, sought after figures like Leatherback could barely pose for shit and what range the Knifehead variants had mostly amounted to variations of "outstretched arms". Only Otachi posed well among them and that thing was designed more like a stylized dragon.

Not anymore. Their joints practically melted after a couple of years. The Kaiju and the Jaegers looked great, but it was like they were made from some of the worst quality plastic I've ever seen. That being said, I do still have two Showa Godzillas and Kong and while the Rex is about as good at articulating as KingGoji, (a $25 toy) MosuGoji has it beat in torso, neck, and hip articulation. I won't compare Kong to the Rex, because that's not really fair, but I definitely think MosuGoji is a fair comparison.

pretty much. David sized up the 1/35 and really didn't do anything to compensate fo the fact that it was now absurdly heavy, had poor weight distribution, and would actively cause its legs to bow. There are tons of stories on the Facebook groups of the figure just randomly falling over despite using both of the standing legs. Spino dude does a pretty fair review of it on youtube where he says he doesn't regret buying it, but he also doesn't recommend it to others.

I'm pretty sure the Albertosaurus and Gorgosaurus use the same body as the Daspletosaurus so they shouldn't have the same problems as the Rex.

Andy's Dinosaur Reviews just did a review of the Albertasaurus and the articulation at the neck and waist looks significantly better than previous large tyrannosaurs. It's still not perfect, and looking down remains elusive, but it's definitely improved. The "hoodie" of the neck sleeve has been reduced and I think it looks a lot better too.

I'd be interested to see what improvements might be made to T. rex itself when it's included in Cyberzoic wave 2, especially looking at the two-piece necks on the Dryptosaurus and Yutyrannus of wave 1.

Its not super surprising, I felt like these wave 3s had the most potential as soon as I saw them, I really think this size range (20ish inches) is probably the best "big dino" size range, anything bigger is goofy, these are in that golden side range and have had improvements made based on the issues with the first wave.
Personally I'm thinking of going for Albertosaurus, and then grab a Pachyrhinosaurus to go with it (probably the original even if im not big on the mint belly, the Fans choice doesnt quite work for me).
Hopefully the wave 3 tyrannosaurs being an improvement over how kinda fucked up the rest of the series was will bode well for Allosaurus, a personal favourite of mine.

I don't only like the dinosaurs. I like the Desert well enough and the Fire Clan is pretty good. I just think the Tech and Dragon clan look mid as fuck and that in general, the idea of futuristic vehicles on Dinosaurs is stupid. I would have much rather gotten Medieval armor like Dinotopia or the Dinosaur Lords or gone for something like Primal, with leather and bone saddles and armor.

Looks like the head sits over the neck piece, like in the raptors, rather than the sleeve/hoodie of the Tyrannosaurs. Hopefully that means it can look down, although I worry about its ability to look up.

I have a feeling those get away with it because of the feathers.
The big balancing act here is that if you make the figure too segmented (massively improving them as articulated action figures), you will start to fuck up the figure as a display piece of a paleontologically informed dinosaur.
Might not quite get what I mean, but basically I think if you segment things too much, it can start to look like some big segmented dragon, like monster hunter's Rathalos or something. Rather than selling the smooth look these would have had in life.

Basically, I think it's a no-win scenario (or the solution would require some smart toy engineer to invent), this line is trying to balance poseable action figure with realistic display piece and the two sides are at odds IMO.

as others have said, it's an articulated figure, not a statue. If you don't want articulation then buy a statue. If David didn't want to break up the sculpt then he shouldn't have started an action figure company.
