I don't know what is and is not a reddit opinion, but I will say that as soon as Lego abandoned the angular style and started making everything curved and bubbly it went to shit. These new sets would have been 10/10 back in pre-2000s Lego style, but Lego can't make anything look as good anymore. Even with triple the part count.

I got this one for Christmas as a kid. I remember building it with my Dad, and then I immediately threw it across the basement, where it broke into a ton of pieces. When he asked why I did that, I said the picture on the box showed it breaking apart as it flew, so I figured that's what it was supposed to do. One of my first memories of doing something profoundly retarded.

2024 lego space sets are bullshit

Last year sets at least had some rigor about nowadays space missions

But the 2024 sets are fantasy bud ugly, bad and boring fantasy

No fight, no adventures, no chase, no mining, no story

Only take some pics and collect some cristal pieces

I can't see how a kid can find them attractive

There is no interaction or story to play, no dangers to combat or avoid

The only elements I would save are the droids, but ony if there were something to do mining or a menace that an army droids could fight against
