>>10792531Bruh, pretty much everything you just said applies to a lot of 40k weapon designs. Let's compare the heavy bolter; the mag/ammo belts feed is way too forward, giving it a tiny barrel length, it's very tall for no reason (as are all bolters besides the pistols and surprisingly combi/storm bolters), it will SOMETIMES have a tube or two going into the armor/backpack, and the forward grip is often a really weird top mounted vertical grip (30k gets a better vertical grip). Despite having a top mounted grip, it still has a forward iron sight.
So many guns are nearly as big (many times as long, at least) as their wielder, and "pistols" could easily pass as normal rifles.
I understand that the big sizes is to facilitate tabletop needs (it'd be really annoying and kind of off putting if you always had to look real closely and squint to tell the difference between weapons, or just to see the weapons in general), but I have also come to the understanding that GW has zero clue as to how guns actually work, including their ergonomics.
All of that said, I agree that the vangore launcher is hella big and extra dorky looking. The other two look fine, in my opinion.
