Post your toy trains that you have running around your Christmas tree this year. I wanna see what you guys got.

Mine's just a simple Bachmann HO train. I do usually use an O Gauge set but I wanted to do something different this year.

I also run a Bachmann Santa Fe engine for my christmas set.
I was thinking of getting an actual Christmas theme set but I've been running this train for so long it just feels wrong. Maybe I'll just get some Christmas cars and run them behind the Santa Fe.

I have a few hundred pieces of track so setup a different configuration every year.
This was this year's layout.
Sometimes I'll do a multi-room track if I have the time.
And I don't plan the layout, I just build until it's complete.

New pieces get added on occasion and I honestly don't think every piece has been setup at the same time- the silver plate in the pic is the skating rink, that pic was before the village was completed.

Few years ago I did a layout through 2 hallways and 3 rooms. Multiple switches, crossovers and loops. It was so massive and took so long to layout and get working that I left about half of it up so I can use it again (not much traffic in the formal dining room or den so the parts along the wall are out of the way).
That Santa Fe is a replacement, my original from the 90's is no more.

I didn't do a setup this year sadly, but I did get some new trains for the holidays. The T1 in pic related is my newest N scale addition...

And just today I got a little something for myself as a Christmas gift - a Williams reproduction of Lionel's S2 Turbine. Thing is absolutely massive, I forgot how big O scale really was compared to N. My goal is to build up a small O scale collection (A passenger and a freight train, some track, and some Dept. 56 buildings from now until December next year and do a Postwar-style setup for Christmas next year. The only thing I'm still undecided on is between going full-Postwar and buying tubular track or just grabbing some Fastrack and call it a day.

Ya everything is available online now but I'm just thinking that nothing is compatible with my 2 and a half million miles of track (to scale, of course) and I couldn't mix&match like I do now.

Just starting to get into O and it's almost too hefty. I feel like the cat is going to get injured if he's laying on the track...

Lego actually used to do wooden toys before plastic, like trains (many company's did).
Not saying it's a Lego, but it's a place to start looking.
Germans were big on wooden trains also.

Bachmann engines are surprisingly easy to repair, as long as you have good eyesight or a nice, mounted magnifying glass (or both).
