>>10810035See, your making a subjective argument, which is fine, aesthetics are subjective, and though there does exist objectively bad aesthetics (say, using nothing but bright and warm colors in a dark and gritty setting), in this case (how you feel) falls within those subjective parameters. Unlike how some people that claim primaris armor is ugly because it is new, and when pressed for specifics they point to features found on older versions, which is inconsistent.
You are more rational about it.
Out of curiosity, what do you dislike, specifically?
I started with the beginning of ninth edition, and could only get into space Marines because of the superior primaris sculpts; better detail, and most importantly, no squatting! Also, I started with Tyranids, then got some necrons to try and get my friend into it, and I got some Marines with my necrons, of which I was going to sell/ignore, but astartes got me liking the faction. I remember staring at a start collecting space Marines, but I could not get over the squatting! I went all in on primaris, but when hours heresy rolled out in plastic, I had no issue getting some beakies. The older armors are plain by comparison, but it's not a negative, because it makes painting them easier lol (also, the aesthetics of plain, "basic bitch" soldiers makes sense, as everything is mass produced).
As figures, though, I'd feel that beakies might be too plain, as even storm troopers have more going on. I think joytoy went with mk III's for this reason.
