I've been outta the loop for a year, been taking time off for other toys n interests. Are there any new sets you guys are looking forward to?
I like the new Space mech, even if it's basically just the Mine Mech with a different theme. And I'm looking forward to the Space CMFs, especially the aliens, but the rest of the theme so far uninterests me sadly. I haven't seen anything else lego unveiled for this year, though.

Not gonna lie it's actually kinda nice to see Duckbricks being publically supportive of Sarah. Even if they had remained friends privately one would think he could have attempted to hide or minimize their relationship from his audience as to avoid backlash but to see him showing just2good on his videos and using their chosen name and pronouns with no issue is really refreshing and made my respect for him go up.

Has anyone else been having shitty experiences with their local third party Lego stores lately? The last time I was in one the employees were assholes and all the sets I had any interest in were priced to the moon. Another thing is that I've been seeing these places have their shelves bloated with brand new sets that you can still go and find at Walmart for cheaper. That stuff is never moving, I never see it move.

I know you're joking but they're sadly turning more than enough profit to stay afloat. With one store in particular, I've been there multiple times and see what they pay for bulk parts and even individual figures, it's robbery even by scummy pawn shop standards. They give some dude 5 dollars for his Star Wars figure and throw it in their glass case for 300.

A friend of mine from childhood had the 2003 cloud city set that we used to play with. A few years back I mentioned to him that the set was worth a lot of money today. He seemed kind of excited about it. We talked a bit about it but the topic changed eventually. Next time I saw him he said he sold all his lego in a tub to the closest third party lego store and bragged he got 200 dollars for the lot. He had dozens of pre fleshy Harry Potter and Star Wars sets on top of that set. I congratulated him to keep up appearances but inside I was going into an autistic rage. His boba fett alone was worth more than that. Hell I would have bought his collection for 300 if I would have known.

In good conscience I could never have given him a bad deal for it. That’s specifically why I told him it was valuable. And why I didn’t want to buy it in the first place. I used to have technic beams and gears, rotating and hinge pieces, as well as L shaped and SNOT bricks all in this tray, but now it's gotten so big that I think I should split out. The latter part of Ls ans Snots should be the first to go right? They don't fit much with the theme of moving parts.

I was 11 when it released and a friend of mine got the set. We both liked lego Star Wars at the time and his family had more disposable income so he had a lot of sets. I would get maybe 2 or 3 a year and my parents only shopped for me at Toys R Us, which was only a few minutes from our house, so they never would have seen it. The lego store happened to be closer to my friend. While cool, it wasn’t easy to predict that set would go up in value so much. It was just a toy that was slightly uncommon at the time, less so the closer you lived to a lego store. I’m sure there are a lot of people my age that have old collections sitting in tubs that are valuable like that but don’t realize. I’d guess you draw a 20 mile radius around any lego store that existed in 2003, and the set was probably in the hands of a lot of kids who got big Star Wars sets for their birthday. I am autistic enough to have kept track of lego all this time so I told him. It is the truth, but it is fine if you don’t believe me.

Sure. The jet can attach to the back of the mech to form wings for a flight mode. The jet can also separate into 2 different vehicles, one for Mei and one for MK. I'm not trying to imply that I'm a better designer than someone at TLG. I just like my mechs to be a little "cleaner" than what you see here >>10814933

Why haven't they tried putting out a Creator 3-in-1 Train set yet that's actually meant to be compatible with other Lego trains? We've been getting those little polybag trains for ages and there's that commuter train set from last year but that's not a 3-in-1, but never a big train set. They're clearly fine with doing big Creator sets in minifig scale like the castle and pirate ship so why not a train? You could easily do a nice little train set at the $100-$120 price range
>Main build is a small steam locomotive with a boxcar and a caboose
>Second build is a big American style diesel
>Third build is a tram with a station platform
It doesn't need to be as wild as pic related was, but a low-cost train set (at least compared to lego's other current train offerings) with 3 sets of couplers and a variety of train wheels could go a long way probably.

Got the two cheapest Ninjago mechs from the new wave (Cole and Sora's) the other day, and despite the negative factors coming from modern Lego mech design (ie: no elbows/knees) these give off a bit of a Exo-Force vibe in a few ways
>Vertical boxes like the Exo-Force boxes
>Bulky armored mech like Takeshi's and slim long mech like Hikaru's
They're definitely babby's first mechs but the new joint part used for the waist is going to make mech waists so much less of a struggle to deal with. Considering buying Kai's mech and using it as the basis for a Grand Titan remake

Does anybody else prefer Lego Juniors sets? I like the more simplistic designs that evoke the general idea of vehicles and buildings, with their small builds. It reminds me of when I collected when I was a kid.

The scene was based on three base boards, one 3D 32×32 (basically the entire 6081 set), another 32×32 (classic) and 32×16. All in green. In order to be able to connect the reviewed lock, it was necessary to make several modifications. Changes. I had to change the wall of the small courtyard and the base of the tower at the back. In the construction I used other sets from the classic castle period, i.e. 6040 , 6067 elements and 6061 . So there is an inn here (slightly expanded, enlarged and with a moved wall), a blacksmith and a single wall from 6061. Apart from that, I didn't use any other prefabs, and everything was based on my own idea.

The whole depicts a small stronghold, an advanced outpost placed on a rocky base, clearly raised above the level. The structure has a rectangular shape and is surrounded on all sides by a larger or smaller wall. It has four levels, from fragmentarily outlined underground parts (or rather carved into the rock), through the courtyard level, surrounding walls and the middle level of the tower, to the tower's observation nest. There is one entrance to the building, through a gate and a drawbridge, part of set 6081. Inside there are three buildings and an outline of the castle. The outline of the castle is, of course, 6081, and the buildings include, apart from the inn, a stable with a usable part of the attic and a detached building. In addition, there are the blacksmith's buildings, the utility part of the tower, a small pen for pigs, a place for storing wood, a dungeon (in the castle part), a cell and alleged rooms carved in the rock and located under the surface of the courtyard. I mainly used bricks for construction, including modified ones in classic gray, with a small admixture of modern gray. Moreover, gray in a dark shade, both classic and contemporary.

Below you can see a small observation balcony on the base level, which opens to show the underground area, specifically a small pantry. You can see here barrels with mead or other alcoholic beverages, fish, and barrels with food. In the background, there are doors leading to other "invisible" rooms. ;) Two walls open to look inside. In the main courtyard you can see some overgrown greenery and rock elements. Such elements, along with rocks in three shades of gray and black, are also visible in the rock part of the structure. I tried not to add elements that were somehow different from the classic castle period. Of course, it didn't work out everywhere. ;) The main place, as it is naturally, full of life. Here we will find a farmhand cleaning his horse, two women going to the inn, a blacksmith with his assistant forging swords, and a prisoner in the form of a black falcon knight.
